PREPARATION:

 Print out the game. Cut out “fill in the gaps” cards and “paraphrase the sentence” cards, put
them into 2 piles.
 Prepare a dice and counters.
 Prepare a piece of paper or a blackboard to put down the points scored by the students.

RULES:

 Students throw the dice and move according to the number shown by the dice. They score points
in the game. The winner is not the person who reaches “finish” first, but the one who has more
points (all the students should reach “finish”).

 How to score points:

- if a student stops at a question
, he should complete the question
(1 point) and answer it (1 point). So
the maximal number of points – 2.
If he completes the question How many phone calls
do you usually
correctly, but is not able to answer _______ each day?
it, or if he makes a mistake in the Who do you call?
question, but answers it, he gets 1
point. If he makes a mistake in the
question, and can’t answer it, he
doesn’t get points.

- if a student stops at a “fill in the

gaps” square, he should take a card
from the pile with “fill in the gaps”
cards, and complete 2 sentences. If FILL IN
he manages to complete both THE GAPS
sentences, he scores 2 points. 1
point for 1 correct sentence, 0 – if he
fails.

- if a student stops at a “paraphrase

the sentence” square, he should
take a card from a pile with
“paraphrase the sentence” cards,
PARAHPHRASE
and replace the underlined words THE SENTENCE
with an expression with do or make
(the meaning of the sentence
should remain the same). That’s the
most difficult task that “costs” 2
points.
