The Ten Commandments

The ten commandments- was the greatest proof of God’s unconditional love for
them. For them it was the greatest gift that brought them hope, joy and true
freedom.

The Ten Commandments

1. “I, the lord, am your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt,
that place of slavery. You shall not have other gods beside me.
2. “You shalt not take the name of the Lord, Your God, in vain.”
3. “Take care to keep holy the Sabbath day.”
4. “Honor your father and mother.”
5. “You shall not kill.”
6. “You shall not commit adultery.”
7. “You shall not steal.”
8. “You shall not bear dishonest witness against your neighbor.”
9. “You shall not covet your neightbor’s wife.”
10. “You shall not desire your neighbor’s house or field nor anything
that belongs to him.”

The Beatitudes
Beatitudes- are the eight blessings recounted by Jesus in the Sermon on the
Mount of Beatitudes in the Gospel of Matthew.

The Beatitudes
1. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven
2. Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted
3. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land
4. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be
satisfied.
5. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
6. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.
7. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
8. Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for
theirs is the kingdom of heaven
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every
kind of evil against you (falsely) because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for
your reward will be great in heaven. Thus they persecuted the prophets
who were before you
