Royal Enfield was a brand of the Enfield Cycle Company, a British manufacturing firm. After a few years, the company started producing
the 500 cc Bullets. In 1990, Royal Enfield collaborated with the Eicher Group, an automotive company in India, and merged with it in
1994. Royal Enfield currently sells motorcycles in more than 50 countries.

The Challenge - Need for a High-Speed and Integrated Network for enhanced connectivity and plant efficiency

Royal Enfield, a leading manufacturing company which manufactures bullets across the globe, was looking to upgrade their IT infra-
structure using industry-leading solution. This upgrade was necessary to meet the present plant requirements and to keep up with the
latest technology trends so as to have the maximum output. Royal Enfield was facing challenges in connectivity, network slowness, and
network uptime.

Prior to this upgradation, the company had been running on legacy backbone Copper links with HPE switching, without any Hardware
Redundancy and Aruba in Wireless medium. Royal Enfield saw an opportunity not simply to replicate the previous landscape but also to
optimize its whole approach towards running campus networking.

The Royal Enfield team had to explore the most-suitable campus network solutions amongst market leaders. The aim was to establish
the next-generation network in order to take production level up and running without any downtime.
The Solution:

Our Solution experts along with Royal Enfield’s IT Team analyzed the problems/contingencies faced in the current setup. Based on this
analysis our team prepared a blueprint to address the problem faced by the existing network infrastructure and after a thorough tech-
nical & commercial discussion, Royal Enfield decided to move from HPE to Cisco Enterprise networking.

The Cisco platform was designed by our core CCIE/ Solution Architecture Team considering the performance and reliability needed to
speed up the mission-critical applications of the DC. This has been done keeping best end-user experience in mind, accessing Intranet
or Internet Resource with the help of Cisco Nexus switching at Core, 3850 at distribution & 2960X at access in redundancy with the 10G
fiber uplink for seamless connectivity.
