interlocutors interpreting, paraphrasing or summarising across all domains


–general, professional and academic.

 a bar chart or graph, used to compare different items


 a pie chart, which displays the size of each part as the percentage of
a whole
 a diagram, which explains a process or a cycle

PROCEDURE:

1. Take time to look at the visual aid. Think about what you see and
try to understand it.
2. Plan what you’re going to write (70-90 words) or say (4 mns). You
can follow this outline:
 Introduction (say what the given bar/pie chart// diagram
shows)
 main trend (describe the most relevant)
 detail description (talk about differences and/or similarities)
 conclusion (not always)
3. Do not give your opinion. Avoid phrases like I think or In my opinion
4. Try to paraphrase the information provided whenever possible.
