mastery/proficiency of the learning standards assessed. Prior to
reassessments, each student is required to show evidence of
additional learning to the teacher. All assigned homework and
classwork plus any additional remedial work must be completed by
the student before he/she is allowed to retest. A completed student

CHECKING YOUR GRADES

Grades will be submitted in Parent Portal and updated regularly. It is very important that
you access Parents and students are strongly encouraged to check your Bay District
Parent Portal information on a weekly basis to view the most current grades for EVERY
class. Please also be sure to read any notes posted with each assignment as these notes
may include information about retests and missing assignments. Please also ensure that
we have updated parent contact information on file in Parent Portal with the Jinks office.

HOMEWORK
Each student is responsible for daily homework assignments (including review/study
homework for upcoming assessments). Homework assignments are aligned to class lessons
to provide your child the opportunity to practice the skills he/she learned. My goal is to make
homework meaningful and helpful to the students and it is imperative that your child complete
their homework regularly as assigned. Students who complete the homework regularly show
consistently better grades in math and when faced with needing a retake, completed
homework is factored into their amount of retake homework they will receive.
