AN OVERVIEW
We have been providing marker technology in seed industry for the last >15 years
and many seed companies in Europe , US , Africa and Asia have been using this
technology successfully to replace their traditional system of QC by GOT in
controlling F1 genetic purity. Our system is highly reliable and speedy with
reasonable cost as compared to other methods of molecular assisted quality control.
Our system is also ISTA accredited and we are the pioneers in developing
superfine Isoelectric Focusing (IEF) systems where minor difference of 1Kbp can be
detected. We use Protein (India) & DNA (South Africa/Netherlands) as tools to
develop such quality control system as well other breeding support Programme.

THE TECHNOLOGY________________________________________________________
We use UTLIEF (UltraThinLayerIsoEletricFocusing) Electrophoretic
techniques to resolve seed proteins on an Ultra Thin Gel which gives a
superfine resolution (1bp) and analyze the banding patterns. Since
proteins are the final products of gene translation, we have targeted
this molecule for this diagnostic technique. In a field GOT also the
breeder sees the phenotype….thats again the final translation product.
So irrespective of errors in gene expression, protein diagnostic
techniques are very reliable and has a fine tune with their field
correlation, which has been proved in many of the cases, making our
technique the most reliable, cost effective and quick. Also our Protein marker technology produces a huge number
of DataBase (50-60 bands or even more per gel ) in comparison to DNA markers(1-15 datapoints maximum),and
that’s why our technology is unique and Unbeatable.

If you are interested to develop our genetic purity control system to replace your GOT and for the same following
steps will get involved.
 
A. Finding Hybridity marker for your chosen F1 . For this we need about 500 seed of your F1 seed lot and the
corresponding male, female parent of the hybrid, it takes about 4-6 weeks and once such marker is
validated....you can go ahead for commercial QC .

B. You can outsource your F1 seed lot with us for such Hybrid purity test and you can also do at your lab when your
lab set up is ready to operate our process and protocols.
