UNITED REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA

ENGINEERS REGISTRATION BOARD

17TH ANNUAL ENGINEERS DAY, SEPTEMBER 2 - 4, 2020

INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE TO THE EVENT


The Engineers Registration Board (ERB), a statutory body established by the Engineers
Registration Act No 15 of 1997, as amended by Act No. 24 of 2007. The Board has
responsibilities of regulating engineering activities and the conduct of engineers, engineering
technicians and engineering consulting firms in Tanzania as well as promoting and providing
opportunities and facilities for the study of and professional training in engineering.

The Board is organizing an Annual Event for 17th year known as “Annual Engineers Day
(AED)” that will be held on September 2 - 4, 2020 at Dr. Jakaya Kikwete Convention
Centre, Dodoma. The event will also be available physically (1,500 pax) and virtually
(3,000 pax).
During the event, engineers will discuss the theme on “4th Industrial Revolution Towards
Achieving SDGs: Challenges and Opportunities for Engineers”.

The major activities during the AED event will include:

(i) Paper presentations and discussions;


(ii) Exhibitions of technologies – whereby various organizations will exhibit their
technologies and engineering goods and services;
(iii) Awarding best graduating engineering students from higher learning engineering
institutions, SEAP Providers, and Mentors;
(iv) Oath taking for professional engineers; and
(v) Young Engineers Forum.

All engineers and engineering technicians are invited to attend. All professional and consulting
engineers who will attend this event will have an added advantage of being awarded 16
Professional Development Units (PDUs) in their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Program. CPD is mandatory and a prerequisite for all practicing engineers. During the event
there will be a parallel session for young engineers.

Note: The number of physical participations is limited to 1,500 participants.

All payments will be made by reference number (Invoice number) obtained from Annual
Engineers Day online registration system (www.engineersday.co.tz). All participants are required
to first register for the event and obtain the reference number, then to pay using the invoice /
control number. Payments for the event without reference number will not be accepted. Online
registration System will be opened July 15, 2020.

Participants who will attend virtually will be provided Meeting ID and Password after
registration through online registration system and payment of participation fee.

September 2, 2020 will be the day of registration at the venue. Category A participants will be
required to come at Dr. Jakaya Kikwete Convention Centre, Dodoma to collect their conference
materials; and MUST bring with them Barcode Form (from the online system). For more
