Guidelines
Why Project Work?

Project Work is the best way to practice what have been learnt. The purpose of including
project in IV semester is to provide an opportunity to students to investigate a problem
applying management concepts in a scientific manner and evolve workable solutions. It
enables students to apply their conceptual knowledge in a practical situation and to learn the
art of conducting a study in a systematic way and then presenting their findings and
recommendations in the form of report. As Managers, constantly seek information to take
decisions, this activity will enable the students to collect, synthesize and utilize information
for decision making and reaching specific conclusions.

Objectives:

1. To be able to define the objectives of the study appropriately.

2. To study organizational processes, behaviour and select a suitable area of study for
investigation.

3. To enable the students to study and investigate an organization / concept / field of


their project work.

4. To understand and apply appropriate tools / methodology for research.

5. To evolve practical and workable solutions relevant to the problem.

Guidelines:

1. The topic shall be discussed with the guide and approved by the course co-ordinator.
Students have to get the topic approved from the guide. If the student does not get it
approved by due date than the guide will allot the subject/topic and students will be
duty bound to work on that subject/topic.
2. The student shall seek the guidance of the internal guide on a continuous basis, and
the guide shall give a certificate to the effect that the candidate has worked
satisfactorily under his/her guidance.
3. The record of interaction between the students and the guide & student and the
company
Guide (if applicable) shall be maintained and included in project report.
(The format of interaction is given at Annexure-I)
4. Students are expected to collect primary data and utilize statistical methods to analyze
the data.
5. Copying of old report or plagiarism is strictly fore-bidden.
6. Late submission, printing the project without the written permission of the guide,
failure to interact with guide and act on the advice of guide and copied/repeated project
work / report will be penalized.
7. Reports will be submitted one week before the university exam. No project work will
be accepted after the due date. Date will be announced through notices.
8. On completion of the project work, student shall prepare hard bound report with
golden embossing in following format:
a) The project report shall not exceed more than 40 pages.
b) The project report shall be prepared using word processor viz., MS Word
i) Font Type: Times New Roman
ii) Font Size: 12
iii) Heading: Bold with font size 14
iv) Sub-heading: Bold with font size 12
v) Margins: 1’’
vi) Line Spacing: 1
c) Format of headings and paragraph numbering will be followed as per
American Psychological Association (APA).

9. Guide will write his/her final comments (explanatory note) about the project on the
adjacent page of the institute certificate and get the signature of the students after
ensuring that they have read the comments. The guide will comment on the
performance of the student in project, interaction with guide, understanding and
following of instructions and major flaws in the project.
Note: Approval Certificate issued by the Guide and Coordinator-Academics is mandatory
before final printing.
No reports will be accepted after the final date of submission.

1. Cover page (Project Title, name of the student with roll no, name of the guide, Name of the
university & name of the institute along with logo)
2. Industry Certificate (if applicable)

4. Declaration
5. Acknowledgement
6. Index
7. List of tables and figures

Note: Follow the sequence of the documents mentioned above.
