Editing a Smart Object

After you open PSD file you will see all objects properly grouped and named.
To insert your design you need to edit Smart Object.

To do so, follow 3 simple steps:


1. Select the Smart Object from the Layers Panel
2. Choose Layer > Smart Objects > Edit Contents
3. A new blank file will open, insert you design, then choose File > Save

After those steps your design will appear automatically upon


returning to your main psd file.

Changing the Background and Items Color

To change background color:


1. In the Layers Panel locate and expand Background group
2. Double click Background Color layer, marked with the green color
3. Choose the color and click OK

To replace background with texture:


1. First click the eye icon next to the Paper Background group on the Layers
Panel to hide its content
2. Select the Replace Background Smart Object Layer from the Layers panel
3. Edit the Smart Object (see Editing a Smart Object)

Changing items color:


1. Expand item group
2. Locate and double click on green layer
3. Choose the color and click OK

Useful Tips & Tricks


1. Any layer that can change its color are marked green
2. For more natural look experiment with blending mode* and opacity just select Replace Background layer and change it’s blending mode,
Multiple or Linear Burn are good for light backgrounds, for dark we recommend Hard Light, Linear Light or Normal
3. Blending mode also works with changable color items
4. You can also change brightness and contrast of Background layer (last one in each group) it will give hard spot light effect

Applying Deep of Field Effect

1. First edit your smart object and make your work look finished
2. In the Layers Panel right click on the Smart Object and select rasterize layer
3. Go to Filters > Blur > Lens Blur in the dialog box select as a sourse Lens Blur
channel and check the Invert checkbox
4. Now you ready to make all adjustments, just play with Radius and other
options, to achieve better results.

Tip: If you don’t see Lens Blur option in drop down menu, it means that this
mock-up do not use deep of field feature.
