interaction with the circulatory, respiratory, and excretory systems in providing the
Standards body with nutrients for energy.

B. Performance 1. The learners should be able to present an analysis of the data

IV. PROCEDURES

A. Engagement Loop as many words (organs) associated with the digestive system.

1. Motivation
B. Exploration A. Group Activity (Cooperative Learning)

This teacher will divide the class into 4 groups according to their
interests, each group will have their respective work.

Group 1 – the students will label the parts and give the functions of
each part of the digestive system using a diagram and a literature.

Group 2 – the students will solve a jigsaw/picture puzzle of a human

digestive system, will identify each part and give their functions with
the help of a literature.

Group 3- the students will draw and identify the parts and functions of
the human digestive system.

Group 4 –the students will play “A Gusty Game” and answer the guide
questions that follow.

B. Group Reporting
C. Explanation A. Discussion and Analysis
1. Ask:
What are the different parts of the digestive system?
What are the specific functions of every organ?
B. Generalization
1. What are the different sources of water?
2. What are the different uses of water in our daily lives?

C. Values infusion (ESP Integration)

1. Describe the picture

2. How can you take care of your digestive system?
D. Elaboration
Explain the importance of taking good care of your digestive system through
different activities

Group 1- rap
Group 2 - Role Play
Group 3- Poem
Group 4 - Poster
Group 5 – Song

Match the following functions (Column A) to its respective organs (Column
B) in the digestive system.
Column A
1. Stores the stool from the colon
2. Propels or pushes food to the stomach
3. Ingests and chews food.
4. Absorbs breakdown products of carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and
nucleic acids.
5. Produces bile for fat digestion and elimination
6. Solidify the waste products by absorbing water.
7. Secretes acid and enzymes that transformed food into creamy fluid
called chime.
8. An opening which solid waste passes and eliminated.
Column B
A. Esophagus
B. Anus
