AMM structure

ATA Standard
l The AMM is performed following the ATA standard. Each ATA
reference corresponds with an aircraft system:
n Aircraft general: ATA 00 up to ATA 12
n Airframe system: ATA 20 up to 49
n Structure: ATA 51 up to 57
n Power plant: ATA 70 up to 80
For example, the ATA 12 is composed with:
n Chapter: 12: Servicing
n Section: 12-10: Replenishing
n Subsection: 12-11: Fuel
n Subject: 12-11-29: Fuel system servicing
And the ATA 29 is composed with:
n System: 29: Hydraulic power
n Subsystem: 29-10: Main hydraulic power
n Sub-subsystem: 29-11: Green hydraulic power
n Subject: 29-11-14: Main HP manifold

D/O and MP

l The AMM includes two types of subject:


n Subjects Description and Operation: Page block 001:
n The purpose of the D/O is to familiarize maintenance crews with the aircraft
systems: - Component location
- System/component description
- Power supply (if applicable)
- Interface with other systems ( if applicable)
- Operation/control and indicating
- BITE test
n This part gives maintenance crews sufficient information to understand how
the systems operate.
n Subjects Maintenance procedure:
n The purpose of the MP is to allow maintenance crew to maintain the aircraft
following adjusted procedures.

l The Maintenance procedures (MP) are described in the AMM by the pages-
block:
n 201: Maintenance practices
n 301: Servicing
n 401: Removal/ Installation and Deactivation/Reactivation
n 501: Adjustment/ test
n 601: Inspection/Check
n 701: Cleaning/Inspection
n 801: Approved repairs

l Each procedure is composed with 5 parts:
n Reason for the job:
nGives the reason for the job
nor Refers to MMEL task
nor Refers to CDL task
nor Refers to MPD task
n Job set-up information:
nTool information: specific or no specific
nConsumable material
nIPC/PPIPC/CSN of expendable part
nReference of other AMM tasks or other manuals (CMM, TSM…) required for
the procedure
nList of illustrations
n Job set-up:
nSafety precautions
nSpecific aircraft configuration
nAccess…
n Procedure:
nIncluding test (if simple)
n Close-up:
nRestores aircraft to its initial configuration
