1- GENERAL
1.1- This specification presents requirements for piping materials to the REFAP project in
Brazil.
1.2- This specification embodies by reference, ET-0300-20-PPC-0001 Rev.C, ET-0650-20-

PPC-0001 Rev.A, ET-0700-20-PPC-0001 Rev.0, PETROBRAS standard N-76 Rev.E and
referenced specifications referred to in these specification. Modifications and additions to
these standards are stated hereafter.
1.3- The clause 3 of Technical Specification “Basic Engineering Design Data” as mentioned in
ET-0000-08-TOC-001 shall be applied as the measurement system. However, in special
cases, nominal pipe sizes of piping components shall be in INCH unit.
1.4 In case of conflict between this specification and PETROBRAS standards, this standard
specification shall govern.
1.5 Revision number, such as 1, 2, 3, ...., corresponds to Revision mark A, B, C, ...

respectivily in this specification.

4.3- Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) shall be done in accordance with the material
groupings and thickness range in Table 331.1.1, ASME B31.3c. Furthermore, when PWHT
is required in each specification of “PIPING MATERIAL CLASSIFICATION”
(ATTACHMENT-3), objected welding portion shall also be heat treated.
4.4- Branch Table

For 22” and below (main size), WELDING TEE (B) can be selected substitute for
PIPE WELD WITH REINFORCE PAD (R ).
4.5- Pressure rating for N1

Pressure rating for N1 can be changed to #600.

4.7- Welding End Preparation (Clause 4.5 of N-1693)

1) Socket-welding end preparation shall be plain, irrespective of size and material.
2) Unless otherwise specified, butt-welding end preparation shall be in accordance
with ASME B16.25 as follows:
a) Wall thickness up to 22.2mm: Fig.2(a) in ASME B16.25
b) Wall thickness over 22.2mm: Fig.3(a) in ASME B16.25
3) When the difference in wall thickness between the two components being jointed
exceeds 1.6mm, the ends shall be trimmed in accordance with ASME B31.3,
clause 328.4.2.
4.8- Thread (Clause 4.5 of N-1693)

Pipe thread for drain and vent connections shall be performed at site.
And thread for pipes shall be as specified in ASME B1.20.1 Pipe Treads (NPT).
4.9- Weld pipe for low temperature service

For material classes Bg and Cg, the welded pipes (A671Gr.CC60) for low
temperature service are specified without impact testing, the manufacture shall
submit the welding procedure, which shall include impact testing of welds and HAZ at
–45 deg-C (-50deg-F), for the purchasers approval.
