→ Purpose : avoid misunderstanding → imperfect sentences
→ required → conversations at formal events, esai writing and
communicate at College → good grammar
 SENTENCE
→ Kalimat
→ Part of the sentence :
• Pronoun (Kata ganti) → I, You, She, He, We, It, They
• Noun (Kata benda) → Book, Table, Computer, Thing, Time, Life, Game
• Verb (Kata kerja) → Accept, Borrow, Cook, Draw, Eat, Follow, Write
• Adjective (Kata sifat) → Awesome, Beautiful, Clever, Dirty, Excellent, Far, Good
• Adverb (Kata keterangan) → Bravely, Easily, Quickly, Now, Here, Always, Very
• Preposition (Kata depan) → After, Behind, During, Except, From, Inside, Over
• Conjunction (Kata hubung) → For, And, But, Or, So, Nor, Yet

 VOCABULARY
→ Kosakata → Set of words
→ Vocabulary has at least 3 different meanings :
1. All the words in an English language
Ex : I, Chair, Handsome, Work, Never, During, And
2. Words used in a specific context
Ex : If She want to do an Bachelor of Art she need to improve your art vocabulary.
My uncle is a doctor so he has an extraordinary medical vocabulary.
We just bought a book on the vocabulary of job.
3. Words that someone knows
Ex : My mother said that my vocabulary is good.
 VOCABULARY

→ It will be difficult → you communicate without vocabulary →

without grammar
→ The more vocabulary you have → the easier speaking and
pronunciation → as well as writing
 VOCABULARY

→ Active Vocabulary : We understand the words and used in daily

speaking
→ Passive Vocabulary : We understand the words but cannot be
used in daily speaking
 VOCABULARY

Trik dalam menghapal vocab :

1. Jangan menghapal vocabulary terlalu banyak dalam sehari
2. Hapalkan vocab yang paling penting dan paling sering
digunakan setiap hari (daily speaking)
3. Do repetition
4. Tulis di sticky notes dan tempel ditempat yang sering kamu
lihat
 VOCABULARY
Tips meningkatkan penguasaan kosa kata :
1. Paparkan diri bahasa inggris sesering mungkin :
- English on Monday
- Hapalkan 5 vocab/hari
- Mendengarkan musik berbahasa inggris
- Menonton film yang berbahasa asing tanpa teks
- Bermain game yang berbahasa inggris
- Membaca artikel/buku/berita yang berbahasa inggris
2. Gunakan kata-kata baru/sinonimnya
3. Cari tahu apa yang disebut dengan akar kata
4. Kenali apa yang dimaksud dengan Thesaurus (synonym/antonym)
5. Prioritaskan penguasaan kosakata yang bersifat praktis
