in MATERIALS ENGINEERING.

Your provisional selection is based on your GATE score in Engineering Sciences – 384 (as provided by you) under
the SC category. Please go through the terms and conditions attached with this letter, COAP Guidelines at their
website and also Annexure-A before exercising your option accordingly. Please complete your online admission
formalities by logging on to the COAP portal (http://coap.iitm.ac.in/) and choosing your option during June 10 and 11,
2020.

If you accept the offer, please complete admission procedure by logging on to IISc Applicant's Interface and pay the
Admission Fees during July 1 to 12, 2020.

Terms and conditions:

1. This offer is made based on the credentials you have entered while filling the online application form and declaring them as correct.

2. This offer is made subject to yourself possessing the prescribed educational qualification and GATE score indicated by you, based on which you

are offered admission. You should fulfill all the eligibility criteria as laid down in the online admission information brochure 2020.

3. You are required to submit the original certificates in support of qualification, National Entrance Test, other academic records at the time of

admission You are also required to produce Income and Asset (EWS) Certificate/Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe / OBC-NCL certificate / Disability

Certificate/ Kashmiri Migration Certificate/ Domicle Certificate for Kashmiri Pandits/Kashmiri Hindu Families (non-migrants) living in the Kashmir Valley

as applicable to you at the time of admission.

4. In case you are in the final year of your qualifying examination and you have completed all requirements (including examinations, dissertation

project, viva-vice, etc.,) for award of the degree and awaiting results, you should produce the course completion certificate, issued by the Principal /

Head of the Institution / Controller of Examination at the time of admission. In such a situation you will be given provisional admission, subject to the

condition that you will produce all necessary academic documents on or before 31st December 2020, failing which the provisional admission will be

cancelled.

5. Hostel accommodation will be provided on payment of monthly charges, subject to the availability of rooms. Please note that hostel

accommodation is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Payment of hostel fee details are provided at the end.

6. You will be paid a scholarship of Rs.12,400/- p.m (Rupees Twelve Thousand Four Hundred only). By default, you are agreeing to and give

assurance that you will not leave the course midway. If for any reason you discontinue the course midway, before leaving the Institute, you must

refund the entire scholarship amount paid to you.

7. You will be governed by Rules and Regulations framed/ followed by the Institute from time to time.

8. Legal issues, if any , are subject to the jurisdiction of courts in the City of Bengaluru.

9. If you accept the offer on the terms and conditions indicated above, please convey your acceptance of the offer of admission on COAP portal; and

please login to Applicant's Interface and click on "Pay your Admission Fees" link and remit the Admission Fee of Rs.21260 (Rupees Twenty One

Thousand Two Hundred Sixty only) during July 1 to 12, 2020.

You can pay the admission fee through any one of the following modes using the appropriate links provided therein:

(1) Online payment - using gateway through Credit/Debit Card, or

(2) Net banking (Account to Account transfer)

DO NOT MAKE A SECOND PAYMENT. If you have a transaction ID for having made your payment and amount deducted from our account, just

check the application status after 24 hours. The status should have changed to Admission Fee Received. In case you do not see this status after 24

hours, you may send an email to admission.acad@iisc.ac.in giving particulars of your Application number and payment transaction ID.

10.If, after acceptance and payment of fees, in case you are not in a position to join the Institute, please inform us by updating your acceptance

status online clicking on "Withdraw Admission" on or before July 31, 2020. In the event of withdrawal/cancellation of admission you will be refunded

the amount paid towards admission fee as per UGC norms.

11. You must report at the Faculty Hall of the Institute along with the original documents and certificates as detailed under item-I of Annexure-A

available in the Applicant's Interface. The date and time of reporting will be intimated to you later.

12. Since the M Tech programmes are highly structured, classes will start in full swing immediately after admission.
Note:

In view of paucity of accommodation in the Hostels, you should be prepared to make your own arrangement for accommodation. In case hostel

rooms are available you will be accommodated. Hostel accommodation for men and women students is available on the Institute campus, for the

duration of the course. However, hostel accommodation is subject to availability and is offered on a first-come-first-served basis. If you choose to

avail the hostel facility, you may click "Yes" for the hostel option available in the "Pay your Admission Fees" link in the Applicant's Interface. You are

then required to pay an additional amount of Rs.45,000/- (Rupees Forty Five Thousand only) Rs.20,000/- towards refundable hostel deposit and

Rs.25,000/- towards advance payment of Mess and Room Rent for first five months. (In case you have difficulty in making whole payment of

Admission fee and Hostel deposit at one go, the provision is made for making separate payments. First time you can pay admission fee by clicking on

"No" against "avail hostel facility", and at a later stage you can make payment by clicking on "Pay your admission fee" link and click on "Yes" against

"avail hostel facility" then system will allow you to make payment of hostel deposit alone.). For more information about hostels see the website

http://hostel.iisc.ac.in. No temporary accommodation will be provided until the candidate officially joins.

Persons with Disability (PwD) who have at least 40% permanent physical impairment/disability in relation to a body part/ system/ extremity/

extremities/ whole body, etc., would be given the PwD benefit. Such candidates should be certified by the Medical Board at IISc. The Medical Board

will decide whether:

(a) the candidate qualifies for the benefits under this category, and

(b) the disability is likely to interfere with his/her studies.

The Medical Board duly constituted for this purpose shall meet at the time of interview/admission for the research programmes and at the time of

admission for the course programmes. Candidates who are not certified by the Medical Board as PwD will not be considered for admission under this

category

The decision of the Medical Board shall be final.

You will be governed by rules laid down by the authorities of the Institute from time to time.
