WIRING IN A SATISFACTORY CONDITION (ELECTRICALLY AND MECHANICALLY
SERVICEABLE). WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE WORK, REPAIRS OR
MODIFICATIONS, ALWAYS KEEP ELECTRICAL WIRING, COMPONENTS AND
THE WORK AREA AS CLEAN AS POSSIBLE. TO DO THIS:
- PUT PROTECTION, SUCH AS PLASTIC SHEETING, CLOTHS, ETC., AS
NECESSARY ON WIRING AND COMPONENTS.
- REGULARLY REMOVE ALL SHAVINGS, UNWANTED MATERIAL AND

(a) Do the operational check of the CVR and the CVR channel recording, refer to Ref.
AMM Task 23-71-00-710-001.
WARNING: OPEN THE PROBE HEATER CIRCUIT-BREAKERS 1DA1(2),

3DA1(2,3), 4DA1(2,3) AND 5DA1(2,3) BEFORE YOU OPEN THE
PHC CIRCUIT BREAKERS 2DA1(2,3). IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS
SEQUENCE:
- THE PROBES WILL BECOME TOO HOT.
- THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT AND INJURY TO
MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL.
(b) Do the operational test of the CVR recording logic including time delay relay,
refer to Ref. AMM Task 23-71-00-710-002. If Ref. AMM Task 23-71-00-710-002 is
not available to the customer, then follow the steps below.
NOTE: This procedure is applicable to the CVR and the SSCVR.
NOTE: During the test, it is possible that you will hear an audio signal related to
the synchronization with the second recorder (SSFDR). You can ignore it.
1 Job set-up:
a Aircraft Maintenance Configuration:
<1> Wait for a minimum of five minutes after the engines were
stopped.

<2> Energize the aircraft electrical circuits, refer to Ref. AMM Task
24-41-00-861-002.
<3> Make sure that the PARK BRK control handle is in the ON
position.
<4> Make sure that the aircraft is in the ground configuration.
<5> On maintenance Electrical Panel 50VU, connect a HEADSET 600
OHMS to the CVR/HEAD SET connector.

2 Procedure:
a Operational Test of the FLT/GND Power Supply of the CVR (FIN 6RK):
NOTE: During the test, it is possible that you will hear your voice in
the headset.
NOTE: During the test, if there is an acoustic feedback (Larsen

effect), you can do the test of the CVR through jack headset
FIN 22RK and with the parking brake set to off. Then,
installed wheel chocks or brakes applied are necessary
conditions before you set the parking brake to off and start
the test. After you complete the test, it will be necessary to
set the parking brake back to on.
ACTION RESULT
1. On the overhead panel, on Electrical Panel There is no tone in the headset.
21VU:
- Push the CVR TEST pushbutton switch

for a maximum of 6 seconds and
release it.
2. On Electrical Panel 21VU: On Electrical Panel 21VU, on the RCDR/GND
CTL, pushbutton switch:
- Push the RCDR/GND CTL pushbutton
switch. - The ON legend comes on.
3. On Electrical Panel 21VU: You can hear a tone in the headset
connected to the CVR.
- Push the CVR TEST pushbutton
switch until you hear a tone or for a
maximum of 6 seconds.
3. On Electrical Panel 21VU: On Electrical Panel 21VU, on the RCDR/GND
CTL pushbutton switch:
- Push the RCDR/GND CTL pushbutton
switch. - The ON legend goes off.
b Operational Test of Power Supply Relay FIN 8RK and Time Delay
Power Cut-Off Relay FIN 10RK of the CVR through the Engines
NOTE: A stopwatch is necessary to measure the time in the cockpit.

maximum of 6 seconds. satisfactory.
