TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION OF LAMINATED SAFETY GLASS PANEL

1. Scope :Supply of Laminated Safety glass panels at central stores IGCAR, Kalpakkam

3. Laminated safety glass panel (10mm thick) specification:

1) Glasses shall be 10±1mm thick laminated safety clear glass made out of combination of
5mm thick clear float glasses bonded with PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral) interlayer
conforming to IS-2553/part-I/90 as per size with edges ground.
2) Tolerance
a. Dimension ±1mm
b. Hole ±2 mm
All other tolerance as per IS-2553/part-I/90

3) Supplier is responsible for safe delivery. If any glass breaks during the transport, the
supplier has to replace the same free of cost.
4) All the testing shall be as per IS2553. The same should be witness and certified internally
by the supplier. Test certificate has to be submitted for review.
5) All glasses should be free from visual defect such as waviness, inclusion, bubbles,
porosity etc.
4. Cleaning and packaging
Laminated glass shall be adequately sealed with wooden or plastic covers. All the glass
shall be properly packed against physical damage during transport. The laminated glass
shall be provided with end protectors during packing and transportation.
5. Delivery
Glass should be delivered at IGCAR stores, Kalpakkam within one month of placement
of purchase order.
