Key Concepts: Personality, Entrepreneurial Skills, Correlation

Personality traits influence the motives and the manner in which an individual
acts. Senior High School students under the stem strand take entrepreneurship as an
applied subject. These future leaders should be equipped with entrepreneurship skills.
This study was conducted to know if there is a correlation between personality and
entrepreneurial skills. The researchers want to find out how personality affects the
STEM students’ quality as an entrepreneur. In conducting the study, Grade 12 STEM
students were selected as the participants. They answered two sets of test
questionnaires, one for the personality, which is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Test,
and the other for entrepreneurial skills, which is the Entrepreneurial Skills Self-
Assessment Test. The researchers chose Marikina Science High School, Parang High
School, and Sta. Elena High School as their locale. After gathering the data from the
different schools, they obtained the results. The researchers have made the following
conclusions based on the results of the gathered data: First, the common type of
personality among the Grade 12 STEM students in Marikina City is the ISFJ (The
Nurturer) Personality. Secondly, the entrepreneurial skills of the students include Self-
confidence & Motivation, Effort & Sense of Responsibility, Initiative & Perseverance,
Solidarity & Team Spirit, and Resourcefulness & Determination. And lastly, based on
the results from the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient, there is no
correlation between the personalities and entrepreneurial skills of the Grade 12 STEM
students except for the Extraversion personality, resulting to a weak positive and
negative correlation to the entrepreneurial skills.
