LECTURERS
PROFESSOR MARTIN YOUNG
Martin is Head of the School of Economics and Finance. He has a long association
with Massey University and took up a position here as Associate Professor in early
2003. He also held senior positions in the financial industry in New Zealand and
was a member of the New Zealand Stock Exchange for many years.

PROFESSOR DAVID TRIPE


David had 17 years of banking experience prior to his moving to Massey at the
beginning of 1994. He is also responsible for managing students’ special topics
and research projects in banking. He is a Senior Fellow of FINSIA (formerly the
Australasian Institute of Banking and Finance) and also member of New Zealand
council for FINSIA.

PROFESSOR HAMISH ANDERSON


Hamish is a qualified chartered accountant with big four accounting firm work
experience prior to joining Massey University. He has taught on Massey's Executive
MBA program for over 15 years and is recognized for his contribution to teaching
through receiving University, New Zealand and International teaching awards.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR: JEFF WONGCHOTI


Jeff, a finance PhD from USA with diverse publications in quality journals (including
ELEVEN 'A'-rated articles in ABDC list). Published journals in 'A' rank are Journal of
Banking and Finance (A*, 2 articles), the Financial Review (3 articles), Pacific Basin
Finance Journal (2 articles), International Review of Financial Analysis (3), and
Emerging Markets Review.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR: NICK NGUYEN


Nick is an Associate Professor of Finance at Massey University, Albany. He was a
Senior Lecturer and Director of BCom (Hons), PGDipCom & MCom programmes at the
University of Auckland (UoA). His teaching includes Financial Management, Applied
Financial Modeling, Investment Analysis, and Risk Management.

DR CHRIS MALONE
Chris has a PhD in Finance from the University of Connecticut. He has instructed
students in a range of classes including Corporate Finance, Investment, Institutions,
International Finance and Financial Risk Management, as well as some teaching in
Economics and Accounting.

LECTURERS
PROFESSOR. JAMES ARROWSMITH
Jim joined Massey as a Professor in the School of Management in 2008. Key areas of
expertise include employee engagement, variable pay, and flexible working time. The
academic quality of this work was recognised by the award of the highest ranking (A) in
the most recent NZ research assessment exercise.

PROFESSOR. TIM BENTLEY


His primary research interests centre on psychosocial risks and healthy work, with a
particular emphasis on workplace bullying and other forms of ill-treatment in the
workplace. He has held several formal research leadership roles throughout his career,
including director roles at Forst Research (Scion), Massey and AUT.

PROFESSOR JANE PARKER


Jane was Senior Research Fellow at the Industrial Relations Research Unit (IRRU) in
the University of Warwick's Business School before joining AUT as Senior Lecturer
Above the Bar in 2008. She received the highest grade in the 2012 TEC PBRF research
round. Jane has had successful grant applications as a sole, co- or named researcher
from the UK Department of Trade and Industry/Acas/Chartered Institute of Personnel
and Development.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR LYNN JEFFREY


Identifying and developing competencies to improve workplace performance, includ-
ing the preparation of graduates for work, is the focus of her research. The impact of
her work crosses diverse contexts.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR JO BENSEMANN


Jo is Head of School in the School of Management in the College of Business at Massey
University (Manawatu campus). She teaches small business management and entrepre-
neurship, innovation and creativity and also contributes to papers within Massey's MBA
programme - Associate Professor Jo Bensemann was invited to become a Trustee for
the Ruapehu District Council’s Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO).

DR DARRYL FORSYTH
Darryl Forsyth is a senior lecturer in Department of Management at Massey Univer-
sity’s Albany campus. He currently teaches in area of Human Resource Manage-
ment & Research Methods. His ‘umbrella’ research focus is on understanding and
facilitating healthy work.
