Introduction

 BRT is a suite of elements

that create a high quality
rapid transit experience
using rubber tired vehicle's

 This experience often

include a high degree of
performance (especially
speed & reliability),case of
us, carefull attention to
aesthetics
Aims & objectives

AIM

To approach the service quality of rail transit while still

enjoying the cost savings and flexible of bus transit

OBJECTIVES

Considering the factor such as

• Travel demand

• Easy of implementation

• Potential of the route as an independent route

Integration of BRTS with other proposal

Why BRTS....?
 Urgent need for efficient mass transport
system

 Scope for both low density and high

density passenger movement

 Low cost transit solutions

 Less time for planning and construction

,more flexibility

 Higher speed with little delay for buss

 Environmental friendly

 Scope for public private synergy

BRTS TERMINAL
Characteristics of BRTS

 Dedicated lanes and alignment.

 Off-board fare collection.

 Intersection treatment.

 Platform-level boarding.

 High capacity vehicles.

 Quality stations.

 Prominent brand or identity.

 In tunnels or subterranean structures.

Components of BRTS
A BRT System combine flexible service and new
technology to improve customer convenience and
reduce delay while specific BRT application vary
the components may include:
 Running way
 Vehicles
 Stations
 Route structure and schedule
 Fare collection
ADVANTAGE OF BRTS

 Travel Time Savings. Dedicated bus lanes separate BRT

buses from mixed traffic, allowing them to travel more
quickly through a city. ...

 GHG and Local Air Pollutant Emissions Reductions. ...

 Traffic Safety Improvements. ...

 Increased Physical Activity. ...

 Scaling Up BRT Globally.

BRTS STATIONS
 Most platform size for two bus's (three at some)
 Centre platforms requesting counter flow operations for regular
buses
 8 stations are currently accessible to physically challenged
passengers
 Modernization of others station continue
Brts bus

Bus dimension Capacity : Benefits:

• Length : 19.5m • 43 seated • 20-30% fuel savings
• Inside height:2.3m • 150 standing • Decreased emissions
• Door width:1.2m • 193 totl capacity • More acceleation
Fare collection
 Designed to make it fast and easy to pay ,often before boarding
the vehicle, BRT fare collection system include the use of self-
service proof-of-payment systems or pre-paid stored-value fare
cards, such as a “smart card” system.
Route structure and schedule
 Established to maximize direct, no-transfer rides to multiple
destination and to create more flexible and continuous service
(reducing the need for a schedule) for local and express bus service

Conclusion
The BRTS provides a faster and cost effective transit solution .
The metro bus has also achieved its sustainability aims. The
improve ridership and capacity proves that metro bus achieve one
of the highest patronage which in turn proves effective operation
of metro bus.
