End Term Exam

Question Paper Pattern and Instructions regarding Mix (MCQ+ Subjective) Exam

1. The End Term Examination for the current term for Distance Education students shall be held in
the online mode and students have to use the URL: myclass.lpu.in to login to the platform for
the examination.

2. For logging in to My Class interface, students are required to use their LPU e-Connect
username and password.

3. Pattern of Examination: Question papers for Mix (MCQ + Subjective) Exam shall consist of
25 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 1 mark each. Time duration to attempt each MCQ
would be 2 mins and there will be no option of moving back to the previous question. Total time
to attempt Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) would be 50 minutes.

In addition to MCQs, students need to attempt 2 Subjective (Descriptive) Questions of 10


marks each with internal choice for both the questions. Total Time to attempt subjective
questions would be 70 minutes.

Total duration of exam would be 120 minutes.


4. Conduct of Examination:
a. All questions shall be displayed to the student in the sequential order (i.e. Q. No. 1 followed
by Q. No. 2, followed by Q. No. 3 and the student will not be able to come back to
previous question once he/she moves to the next question. However, if student does not
want to attempt a question, he/she can skip the question by pressing the ‘next’ button. In
such a case, the student would not be able to come back to the skipped question.
b. A student shall be allocated 2 minutes (timer monitored) for attempting each MCQ question.
In this regard the student should note the following:
i. After completion of the stipulated time (2 minutes) allocated for a question or after
successfully attempting the question, the student shall be moved to the next question.
ii. Time saved (from the stipulated time of 2 minutes) for a question shall not be
available for the upcoming questions i.e. there is no roll over of time, no benefit of
early attempt.
c. Student will be given 35 minutes for each Subjective Question i.e. 25 minutes for
attempting and 10 minutes for uploading the answer. In this regard it is reiterated that once
the student has reached the next question, he/she shall not be able to move to the previous
question.
i. After viewing the question statement, the student shall be required to write the
answer on A4 sheets (in the format specified in point 7) and upload the answer
sheets in the examination portal using the designated link given for each question.
ii. Student can use maximum of 4 pages (one -sided) for attempting one answer.

5. The student can attempt the Examination through any of the following two modes:

Mode 1: Through Laptop/ Desktop with minimum 2GB RAM + Smart Phone (for uploading the
images)
Mode 2: Smart Phone (By using the browser of the smart phone) with minimum 2GB RAM

Details of supported browser are as mentioned:


Windows: Google Chrome 80+
Edge Browser: 80+
Linux: Google Chrome: 80+
Mac OS: Google chrome: 80+
Android: Mobile Chrome 80+
iOS: Safari 13.0 or above

However, it is advisable that the student attempts the Examination through Mode 1 i.e. Laptop/Desktop +
Smart Phone. This shall give optimum opportunity to the student to properly view the questions (which may
include diagrams/images/case studies etc. requiring scrolling)

6. Requirement of Examination: Find below the list of certain basic infrastructure requirements
for attempting the examination.
a. Laptop/Desktop and/or smart phone with minimum 2GB RAM.
b. Uninterrupted active Internet connection with minimum of 2-3 Mbps speed (Students should
also make provisions for a backup internet connection)
c. Charging facility along with electricity backup for the duration of examination.
d. Working webcam of good resolution & Mic.
e. Permission to allow access to camera and microphone of the device
f. Basic examination stationary including pen, pencil, A4 size sheets, calculator, water bottle
etc.
g. An isolated place with no distraction and proper lighting as examination area

7. For writing the answers on A4 Sheets use the following format.

Write all the information given in the template on each page of the answer sheet in your own
handwriting.

Note: You can use maximum of 4 pages (one -sided) for attempting one answer.
Please note the following with respect to the sample answer sheet shown above:

A) Each Page should contain the necessary information related to exam such as Registration Number,
Exam Date, Exam Time, Course Code, Question Number, and Page Number in the format
mentioned in the sample answer sheet shown below.
B) Page-1 of your answer must contain the question statement. However, the question statement
need not be mentioned on the subsequent pages such as page 2, 3, 4.
A) Page number should be written in format xx of yy where xx is the current page number and yy is
the total number of pages used to answer the question. For instance, if you are writing page
number on the 2nd (xx) page of your answer and there are total 4 (yy) pages that have been used
to answer the current question than your page number should be 2 of 3 and all the page numbers
shall look like -Page 1 of 4, page 2 of 4, page 3 of 4 and page 4 of 4. Page Numbering should be
done after writing the complete answer.
C) You must sign at the bottom of every page of your answer sheets.

Capture the individual image of your answer sheets one by one using mobile phone. Therefore,
if you have written your answer in 3 pages for a question, you must click three images, 1 for each
page of answer sheet.
8. Proctoring of Examination: The examination to be conducted shall be proctored and there shall
be continuous monitoring of candidates appearing in the examination by allocated faculty
members. The faculty members shall continuously monitor the allocated students for
invigilation for the complete duration of the Examination. In this regard the students shall
ensure the following:

a. The webcam of the student is on for monitoring purpose during the complete duration of
the examination failing which the student shall be disqualified from the examination and
shall not be allowed to continue his/her examination.
b. In case the student attempts to navigate away from the examination window, after two
warnings the examination of the student shall be auto submitted and the same cannot be
attempted further.
c. In case a student is found using any unfair means during the examination by the proctor
including calling, messaging, using any other device the same shall be treated as an
unfair means case and necessary disciplinary action shall be taken.
d. In case the student is found misbehaving with Faculty on proctoring duty or seeking any
unnecessary help, such a student shall be disqualified from the examination.
