• Inspects equipments, tools, and working condition to ensure safety of workers engaged
in construction and maintenance of overhead and underground power lines.
• Inspects safety harness, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and tools, and replace those not
meeting the requirements.
• Observes crews at work and report laxity in safety precautions, such as failure to use safety
glass, gloves, and other safety devices.
• Examines conditions of ditches and tunnels and recommends use of braces to prevent
cave-ins endangering workers.
• Investigates accidents to determine causes and devises preventive measure
• Ensure the availability of work permits prior to start of any work.
• Ensuring that all non-routine and potentially hazardous routine jobs are carried out under
Permit To Work System with associated Complimentary Certificates, and Work Hazard
Information System (WHIS) duly followed.
• Carrying out regular Unsafe Act/Condition Audits to quickly identify hazards at the at
worksite with corrective actions to re-instate facility integrity to sustain safety, protect the
environment and meet the HSE targets.
