Uluwatu is a place on the southwestern tip of Bukit Peninsula of Bali,
Indonesia. It is a home to the PuraLuhurUluwatu Temple. The name Uluwatu comes
from ulu, meaning ‘land end’, and watu, meaning ‘rock’.
Uluwatu was discoveredas a surfing destination in 1972, due to the making of
“Morning of the Earth”, a 1971 classic surf film by AlbyFalzon and David Elfick. The

Sri Sultan HamengkuBuwana was IX Born in Ngasem, Yogyakarta, and 12 April
1912 under the name of Raden Mas BendoroDorodjatun. He was the Sultan of
Yogyakarta Sultanate (1940-1988), and was recorded as the longest serving governor
in Indonesia between1945-1988.
At the age of 4, HamengkuBuwana IX lived apart from his family. He obtained his
primary education (ELS) in Yogyakarta, MULO in Semarang, and AMS in Bandung. In
the 1930's, he enrolled at Rijkuniversiteit (now Universiteit Leiden), Dutch.
HamengkuBuwana IX was crowned as the Sultan of Yogyakarta on March 18, 1940.
He was the sultan who opposed Dutch colonialism and promoted the independence of
Indonesia. Since 1946, he had ever become a minister for several times in the
President Sukarno’s cabinets. His official position as the Chief Minister, in the field of
Economy was in 1966. In 1973, he was appointed a vice president. At the end of his
term in 1978, he refused to be re-elected as vice president for health reasons.
Sultan HamengkuBuwana IX died at George Washington University Medical
Centre, USA in October 2, 1988. He was buried in the Mataram sultanate’s cemetery,
Imogiri, Bantul regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Marie Curriewas born on in Warsaw, Poland on 7 November 1867. She was a
physicist and chemist who conducted pioneering research on radioactivity. She was
the first woman to win a Nobel Prize. She was the first person and the only woman to
win the Nobel prize twice, and was the only person to win the Nobel Prize in two
different scientific fields. She was also the first woman to become a professor at the
University of Paris.
She studied at Warsaw's clandestine Flying University and began her practical
scientific training in Warsaw. In 1891, aged 24, she followed her older sisterBronislawa
to study in Paris, where she earned her higher degrees and conducted her subsequent
scientific work. She shared the 1903 Nobel Prize in Physics with her husband Pierre
Currie and physicist Henri Becquerel. She won the 1911 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
Her achievements included the development of the theory of radioactivity,
techniques for isolating radioactive isotopes, and the discovery of two elements,
polonium and radium. Under her direction, the world's first studies were conducted into
the treatment of neoplasms using radioactive isotopes.
Marie Currie died in 1934, aged 66, at a sanatorium in Sancellemoz, France. She
died because of a plastic anemia from exposure to radiation in the course of her
scientific research and in the course of her radiological work at field hospitals during
World War I.

saw seven beautiful angels taking a bath. He was really amazed
by their beauty. Then, he stole and hid one the angels’ shawls.
After the angels were finished, theywore their shawls and
flew to the sky. However, one angel, NawangWulan, could not fly
back to the sky. She cried. JakaTarub then approached her.and
took her toJakaTarub's home. Later they got married and had a
baby girl.
One day, NawangWulan was cooking. She asked JakaTarub not to open the
pan's lid while she was out. However, JakaTarubwas really curious. He opened the
pan's lid. He saw only one grain of rice to cook. When NawangWulan got home, she
knew that JakaTarub had opened the lid. She was angry because she already lost her
magic in cooking. Now she had to take a big portion of rice to cook.
Slowly there was not enough rice in the silo. And when NawangWulan wanted to
take the last portion of rice, she found her shawl. JakaTarub hid the shawl in the silo.
NawangWulan was really happy.
She said, "I will go home now. Take care of our daughter. When there is a full
moon, take her out of the house and I'll come."
NawangWulan then flew to the sky. JakaTarub was really sad. And to keep the
promise, JakaTarub always went out of the house with his daughter when there was a
full moon. But NawangWulan never came back.

Orangutan is a species of great apes
originated from Indonesia and Malaysia. The name
was derived from two words in Melayu language, the
first word is “orang” which means “human” and the
second word is “utan” which means “forest”. It is
recorded that orangutan have 96.4 % DNA
similarities to human. They also behave like human
in their daily life. Nowadays, they can only be found
in the rainforest of Sumatra and Borneo. There are two sub-species of orangutan, they
are: the Bornean orangutan (Pongopygmaeus) and the Sumatran orangutan
(Pongoabelii).
Orangutan have two legs and two hands. They have four long fingers and a thumb
on their hands which allow them to perform some activities like humans. They have a
huge and fat body, large neck, long arms and short legs. They don’t have any tail. An
adult orangutan can reach the body height of 1,5 m with the body weight around 50 to
100 kg. Their body is full of reddish or brown hair. Their pregnancy period is similar with
human which can take up to 274 days or around nine months. They can live up to the
age of 35 to 45. They consume fruits as their main diet, but they also eat bark from a
tree, honey, insects and bird eggs.
