Problem Statement:

In order to improve the overall performance/effectiveness in terms of reducing lead time or

decreasing cycle times the manufacturing organizations utilize several strategies e.g. conducting
work study, adopting effective inventory management systems, applying group technology,
implementing an effective sequencing and scheduling approach, following an appropriate
demand forecasting method etc. it is required to select any one of such strategies and while
implementing it to a real life situation. Quantify the resulting improvement in the overall
performance of the system.

1. Understand the relevancy of different strategies selected (C-2)

2.Explain the reasons for their dependency/ relevance with each other and with the overall
performance of the system. (C-2)

3. Develop a solution for a real-life problem using at least one performance enhancement
strategies (C-3)

4. Analyze the obtained results by comparing them with the results that were obtained prior to
implementation of the selected strategy (strategies) (C-4) (C-2)

5.Conclude the CEP,with a discussion on the overall outcome of the study/implementation.
