Project sponsor: The General Manager, ABC Insurance Company.

Business Need: This project has been initiated in other to develop a web-based third-party
motor insurance system for handling quotation, order and payment of motor insurance for its
customers. It is expected that the project will provide the following:

1. Improve customer experience.

2. Increase insurance sales.
3. Automate processes for efficiency and ease of use.

Business requirements: Using the web based system, customers will be privy to the
following functionalities:

1. Search for one-year third-party motor insurance plan by using the system.
2. Customers can make quotation requests by entering their names, email addresses,
phone numbers, and details of involvement in any accidents or conviction of any
driving offence.

4. Renew existing insurance policies on the system if no claim has been made in the
period of the existing policy.
5. Confirmation and payment of the renewal of insurance policies.
6. E-payment.

Business value: We expect that this system will increase sales by enabling existing
customers to purchase specific insurance policies and by reaching new customers who are
interested in our services. We expect to gain save revenue by automating most processes that
would require man-power, there by cutting down on staff size.

Conservative estimates of tangible value to the company include the following:

 ₦364,000.00 from reduced inventory over three (3) years.
 Estimated ROI of 170% over three (3) years.
Special Issues or Constraints:

 The marketing department views this as a strategic system. The ability to offer digital
services is critical in order to remain competitive in the market niche.
 Many of our current loyal customers have been requesting this capability, and we
need to provide this service or face the loss of these customers’ to our competitors.
