PASSAGES FROM THE BIBLE FOR PRAYER

1. Come, let us return to the Lord; for it is He who has torn, and He will heal us.
He has struck us down, and He will bind us up. (Hos. 6:1)
2. Yet even now, says the Lord, return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with
weeping and with mourning; rend your hearts and not your clothing. (Joel 2:12-
13)
3. Return to the Lord, your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger,
and abounding in steadfast love, and relents from punishing. (Joel 2:13b)
4. Come let us go up to the mountain of the Lord …that He may teach us His ways
and that we may walk in His paths. (Mic. 4:2)
5. Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near…return
to the Lord, that He may have mercy. (Isa. 55:6-7b)

27.No weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper, and you shall confute
every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the
servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, says the Lord. (Isa. 54:17)
28.And as for me, this is my covenant with them, says the Lord: my Spirit that is
upon you, and my words that I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of
your mouth, or out of the mouths of your children or out of the mouths of your
children’s children, says the Lord, from now on and forever. (Isa. 59:12)
29.It was no messenger or angel but His presence that saved them; in His love and
in His pity He redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days

58.The prayer of the humble pierces the clouds and he will not be consoled until
it reaches the Lord; he will not cease until the Most High visits him, and does
justice for the righteous and executes judgement.
My child, when you are ill, do not delay, but pray to the Lord and he will heal
you. (Sir. 38:9)
59.The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective. (Jas. 5:6)
60. Therefore, thus says the Lord: If you turn back; I will take you back, and you
shall stand before me. If you atter what is precious, and not what is worthless,
you shall serve as my mouth. It is they who will turn to you, not you who will
turn to them. (Jer 15:19)
