1 Foreword

® ®
The EC130 T2 is the upgraded version of the well known EC130 B4 and remains the leader on the tourism market
thanks to its spacious cabin, its outstanding visibility and its very low external sound level that makes it the quietest
helicopter in its class.
®
This new comer in the ECUREUIL range benefits from a massive redesign based on the successful EC130 B4.

Comfort has been upgraded thanks to a brand new anti-vibration device, an air ventilation system that has been
especially redesigned for this helicopter and air conditioning.
®
In addition, the new STYLENCE interior option offers a cabin layout with high level of finishing and comfort. The elegant
interior design with stylish seats and high quality materials creates an exclusive ambiance.
All these improvements make the flight smoother and more enjoyable for passengers and crew.

The EC130 T2 responds to the most demanding safety requirements from the Certification Specifications (CS-27) of the
European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Equipped with improved energy absorbing seats, it encompasses dual-
hydraulics and is fitted with a crashworthy fuel tank to enhance safety.
Man Machine Interface has been improved by introducing a new console panel’s concept, thus reducing pilot workload.

It is equipped with the brand new Turbomeca ARRIEL 2D engine, controlled by a new generation FADEC including the
latest technology, an Engine Data Recorder for a better monitoring of engine data along with a creep damage counter for
a better surveillance of module 3 that enables to shift from classic maintenance to predictive one. Thus, anticipative
actions drastically reduce unscheduled removals to enhance helicopter availability.
The ARRIEL 2D engine offers 14% more power compared to the previous engine version and a 30 minute take-off power
rating for occasional use. That makes the EC130 T2 much more versatile to answer to additional missions such as aerial
work and hot and high operations.

New optional equipment are available on the EC130 T2 such as the new cargo-sling with an external load capacity of
1,500 kg (3,307 lb) that increase the versatility of the helicopter.

The design of the EC130 T2 has been driven by optimisation of the maintenance.
The lower Direct Maintenance and Operating Costs thanks to higher engine TBO and a reduction of specific fuel
consumption respond to Customers’ request in terms of economical improvements.

More versatile, more comfortable, more modern and more powerful, the EC130 T2 is the answer for private owners as
well as for operators performing passenger transport, utility, EMS and law enforcement missions.
It is in addition perfectly adapted for operations in hot and high environments and mountainous areas.

4 Mission Configurations

The following mission equipped configurations are proposed by Airbus Helicopters, benefitting from
years of experience in designing & producing helicopters and from coordination with different
operators of the ECUREUIL family around the world.
All the configurations encompass several equipment as a basis for all missions, including avionics
and the radio suite.
On top of this Baseline Aircraft Definition, these pre-selected lists of optional equipment should be
regarded as a recommended equipment list.
In order to be further customized, these mission configurations can be complemented by additional
optional equipment proposed in chapter 5 ‘Further equipment information’ of this Technical Data 1.

For the EC130 T2, the reference mission configurations are:

„ Passenger Transport Mission

„ Aerial Work Mission

„ Corporate Transport Mission.

1
Please note that some constraints may exist between optional equipment. Any modification and/or complement of the
proposed mission configurations must be established with assistance of a AIRBUS HELICOPTERS sales representative.

4.1 Passenger Transport Mission

The EC130 T2 with its FENESTRON shrouded fan tail rotor is one of the most silent helicopters flying
nowadays. Its very low sound level is under the limits defined by the Grand Canyon National Park rule.

The helicopter has been designed with the occupants in mind. Each passenger is comfortably seated on
individual and comfortable seats. The wide and unobstructed cabin with very high visibility offers the
passengers an excellent view for both the front and the rear passengers. The rear passengers' seats are
raised to provide this excellent view.

Using the technologies of the well-known ECUREUIL family, the EC130 T2 has an exceptional high rate of
availability. All these elements make the EC130 T2 therefore the benchmark for passenger transport and
tourism helicopters.

4.2 Aerial Work Mission

The EC130 T2 has extended its versatility to Aerial work missions thanks to an increased external load
capacity (1,500 kg – 3,307 lb) and a list of new optional equipment such as cargo-sling.

This multi-mission helicopter is the right answer for operators that want to combine cargo-load operations and
passenger transport mission. The new individual energy-absorbing rear seats can be easily and quickly
removed for offering a large flat floor cabin for freight transportation.

The ARRIEL 2D engine, more powerful and capable of 30 minutes take-off power rating for occasional use,
offers high performance and allows operations in hot and high conditions even in mountainous environments.

The cockpit includes the dual LCD-screen VEMD, that gives the pilot the possibility to see all the vehicle
parameters at one glance, reducing his workload and enhancing safety. It leaves the pilot the possibility to
concentrate at its mission at hand.

4.3 Corporate Transport Mission (STYLENCE)

In the corporate configuration, the EC130 T2 can transport up to seven passengers in roominess and comfort
that is usually not found in a light helicopter. The elegant STYLENCE interior design with stylish seats and
high quality materials creates an exclusive ambiance.
A large sliding door and the long boarding steps along both sides of the helicopter allow easy access to the
cabin. The passengers are seated on forward facing energy absorbing seats.

The new STYLENCE Layout offers a high level of finishing to the interior of the helicopter and is available in 6
different colors.
