1. General information

Please read this manual thoroughly before installing or operating the bar feeder.

Attaches this graphical representation the operation to instruct that, please give qualified
and the experienced personnel implements the operation, other operations may hand over
by is qualified or the specialized bar feeder operator operates.

There has three method packing of bar feeder:
1. Unpackaged

2. Put it on the skid: Use PE membrane to cover and seal.

person who is trained

Use the properly sling that can load the hanging object, hanging and transporting.

3.3 Installs space

1. The floor must be smooth, solid, convenient fixing on the ground


2. In common use the bar feeder, reserve the proper area, for bar feeder to operating.
Region: (A- personnel operation space), (B- material area), (C- remnant rejected area) the space is
ample, prevent accident collision from contacting the bar feeder, when the equipment is operating.
3. The installing equipment area must have lighting, power source plug, compressed air.
4. When bar feeder running, it has few oils to evaporate, please guarantee to ventilate well in the factory.
5. This bar feeder is not suitable for environment of the explosive gas.

3.4 Bar feeder installation


Please check stability of the lathe before installing the bar feeder, confirm that the lathe has been
fixed already on the ground, and the spindle axis is level.

DANGER-CAUTION
Wrong adjustment may cause damage to the bar feeder.

3.4.1 Height Adjustment


1. While Height adjustment, loosen the nuts(A), make bar feeder center and lathe center height
become a straight line

2. Rotate the screw(B),height Adjustment

3.4.2 Make a preliminary localization

Put the bar feeder at the straight rear of the lathe, after calculating both dynamic operation space, the
distance (B) can't be greater than the maximum pusher extension length (A).

1. Fix type lathe traditional camshaft NC lathe.

2. Sliding headstock type CNC lathe(Swiss type).

3. Sliding headstock type automatic CAM lathe(Swiss type).

3.4.3 Centering alignment

Get the good center to correct, prepare a nylon string, draw from the lathe chuck to the bar feeder
tail , then carry on the following:

1. Put – leveling gauge on the lathe collets:

2. Take a nylon line between bar feeder A and lathe front B. This nylon line through the center
of guide channel and lathe spindle, and strained.

3.Checking nylon string between the front tube and spindle(B)with the caliper , the interval of
four directions should maintain 0.15mm.

(二) Place a bar in the guide-channel, to level the centre, with the following steps:
1. Preparing a straight and round bar, its diameter most maximum guide-channel capacity, the length equal
double distance between lathe and bar feeder.
2. Put and slip the bar in the main spindle through the guide channel set until the bar that nearly the lathe
collets.

Anchoring the bar feeder

1. Bore holes on the ground; use the anchor bolts to lock the foot block on the ground.
2. Fixing and supporting bar feeder on the foot block temporarily, then lock the nut (A).
3. Check the centre leveling once again.

DANGER-CAUTION

Unless manual especially requires can't doing any adjustment during the bar feeder is
automatically running.

In the mechanical work, besides the normal adjustment, this bar feeder in accordance to the operation in
each kind of demand, can have the different hypothesis, along with the bar size , the replacement and the
processing way is different, the partial parts must to be replace, conforms to requirement the different
situation.

4.2 General adjustment

In order to enable the bar feeder to maintain high-efficiency operation, after maintain or change part, doing
the necessary adjustment.

Set in accordance with the diameter of the workpiece size, range 1 ~ 12mm

Setting workpiece length :


In accordance with processing the total length of the finish parts + cutting tool thickness XXX mm.

When the chuck open, bar feeder immediately push the bar to the lathe stopper; set this distance from the
stopper that the pusher commences slow speed to reduce the impact on the STOPPER.

Parameter 2 : Torque setting:

chuck open torque:The setting for feeding torque.

chuck close torque:The setting for holding the bar material during chuck is close.

Parameter 3 : Too long / Too short (Fix type)

For fix type XXX / XXX mm


Function : ON / OFF
This parameter is a safe function, while the lathe collets is open, but bar feeding over long or too short.

In case of too short alarm.

Parameter 4 : Too long / Too short (Swiss type)

For Swiss type XXX / XXX mm


Function : ON / OFF
This parameter is a safe function for Swiss type machine , while the lathe collets is close , but bar feeding
over long or too short .

Parameter 5 : Top cut position

Function : ON / OFF
New bars starting position
a: During new bar exchange, this function can control the new bar feeding into the same position,
without change this setting if the bar length are different. This value is the distance from measuring
flag SR0 to where you want the bar to load to.
b: In manually or automatically operation, after the material is pass through the top cut sensor SR0, will
be showing the length on the display.
So reference the value and enter into setting .

Long months period of being idle bar feeder may lead to a malfunction of battery lifetime of HMI
equipped with the bar feeder. A 3-day electricity storage for battery by switching power on is
required with following measures:

6.1 Conditions for material

6.1.1 Beside round working material, square, hexagon, or various different shapes can also
be used. However, the more complicated shapes of material are used, the more special
conditions should be taken into consideration. When you use other shapes of material
than square, round, and hexagon, please contact our technicians about how to use for
special shapes.

6.1.2 The use of the automatic bar feeder relates much to the working material. Don’t use the
material with bends because it will do damage to pusher and finger. It will make a lot of
vibration and noise and affect the accuracy of cutting.
Please keep the straightness of the material with in 0.5mm per 1M.

6.1.3 All material should be chamfered on the top and the end, and be well-ground. In this way,
the bar feeder change of the material can be proceeded smoothly. And the back end
which is clamped by the finger needs a bigger chamfer.

DANGER-CAUTION

Only after the power is off, do bar feeder maintenance and cleaning.

* To guarantee running smoothly, lengthens the Bar feeder life, periodic maintenance please.

* On the bar feeder, each item of fitting and the working area are usually keep clean, it can also
enhance the personnel safety.

* Be sure not to use the petroleum or other item solvents, otherwise may cause the paint surface to be
damaged electric components and the cable to be damaged.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Protecting the Bar feeder, oxidation will destroy the metal and
electronic parts.

If not using the bar feeder for long time, please disconnect the power plug, and the air fitting, then cover the
bar feeder.

Please note: Any protection covers the bar feeder be make sure not to totally sealed, should have vents, in
case that ventilate badly the water vapor condenses.

2. Inspect finger joint (A) whether revolves smoothly,


the gap not oversized.

3. Inspect finger chuck (B) is normal.

1. Inspection after the bar feeder shut down six hours.

2. The oil level must be lower than hydraulic pump motor base plate 20mm.

3. If necessity add oil in the tank to achieve the above level.

Inspection F.R.L combination, collection water cup (A) whether has full of water, if it is full, loosen (B) , then
drain the water out.

Check lubricating oil cup is full of airline oil. ( FK ISO VG32 )

Take off air to fill.
