1. PLANNING INFORMATION

A. SB EFFECTIVITY

Aircraft affected:

MODEL SN
Embraer 195( ) 19000029, and 19000057.

In-production effectivity:

Embraer 195( ) model aircraft SN 19000069 and on, optionally, have an equivalent
modification factory-incorporated.

B. CONCURRENT REQUIREMENTS

None.

C. REASON

(1) HISTORY

The Generic Input/Output (I/O) and Custom I/O interfaces boards provides parking
brake and Weight-on-Wheels (WOW) open/ground discrete signals to
disable/enable the Wireless Gatelink System.

Some Generic I/O and Custom I/O cards have presented output voltage range at the
threshold to activate the OPEN state and disable the Gatelink input, causing the
system to remain switched on.

(2) OBJECTIVE

To install two zenner diodes, one between Generic I/O and Gatelink input and the
other between Custom I/O and Gatelink input.

(3) EXPECTED BENEFITS

This modification is to ensure proper deactivation of the Wireless Gatelink System

when the discrete output activates the open state.

(4) REVISION HISTORY

None.

D. DESCRIPTION

This modification involves the installation of two zenner diodes to the electrical wire of
connector P3553, in the Wireless Gatelink Router.

To do this, it is necessary to gain access to the area at zones 243 and 244, between
frames 38 and 39 by removing access panels 243CLC and 243ALC.

E. COMPLIANCE

This bulletin may be accomplished at any time, at the operator’s discretion.

F. APPROVAL

The technical aspects of this Service Bulletin are approved by: Agência Nacional de
Aviação Civil (ANAC).

G. ESTIMATED MANPOWER

This estimate is for direct labor only, performed by experienced personnel, and does not
include the time to plan, prepare, or inspect the work.

It is assumed that all the tools, parts, and other means are promptly available when
necessary.

3. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS

The steps below outline the general accomplishment instructions.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE AIRCRAFT IS IN A SAFE CONDITION BEFORE

YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES. THIS IS TO PREVENT
INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.

A. Make sure that the aircraft is safe for maintenance. Refer to AMM TASK
20-00-00-910-801-A/200 - Aircraft Maintenance Safety Procedures - Standard
Procedures.

B. Open the circuit breaker and put a circuit breaker ring and tag (inoperative - do not
operate) on it:

• GATELINK - RHCBP (DC BUS 2)

C. Remove and retain access panels 243CLC and 243ALC. Refer to AMM TASK
06-48-00-800-801-A/100 - Passenger-Cabin Access Panels.

CAUTION: THE MODULE OR UNIT CONTAINS ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE

SENSITIVE (ESDS) ITEMS. OBEY THE APPROVED INDUSTRY
PRECAUTIONS WHEN YOU TOUCH, REMOVE, OR INSERT PARTS OR
ASSEMBLIES. DAMAGE CAN OCCUR FROM ELECTROSTATIC
DISCHARGE.

D. Obey the electrostatic-discharge safety-precautions. Refer to AMM TASK

20-40-00-910-801-A/200 - Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) - Standard Practices.

CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE ELECTRICAL PINS OF THE CONNECTORS.

DAMAGE CAN OCCUR TO THE INTERNAL ESDS COMPONENTS.

CAUTION: USE ONLY PROTECTIVE CAPS FOR THE PROTECTION OF

CONNECTOR PINS OR SOCKETS IN ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS.
OTHER MATERIALS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CONNECTOR PINS
OR SOCKETS, OR LET UNWANTED MATERIALS STAY IN THE
CONNECTOR.

E. Disconnect electrical connector P3553 from the Wireless Gatelink Router. Refer to Figure
1.

F. Install zenner diodes to the electrical wires of the Wireless Gatelink Router. Refer to the
electrical modifications presented in Figure 2.

G. Reconnect electrical connector P3553 tho the Gatelink Router.

H. Remove the circuit breaker ring and tag (inoperative - do not operate) from this circuit
breaker, and close it:

• GATELINK - RHCBP (DC BUS 2)

I. Do the operational test of the Wireless Gatelink System. Refer to AMM TASK
23-23-00-710-801-A/500 - Wireless Gatelink System - Operational Test.

J. Reinstall access panels 243CLC and 243ALC. Refer to AMM TASK

06-48-00-800-801-A/100 - Passenger-Cabin Access Panels.

K. Restore the aircraft to normal.

L. Enter the accomplishment of this bulletin in the applicable documents.
