TAKING ESPORTS TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Welcome to the presentation of the Asociación de Deportes Electrónicos y Videojuegos de Argentina(Association of Electronic Sports
and Video Games of Argentina).

We are passionate about Electronic Sports. We have an excellent group of people who want to see the industry grow and become the
leaders that carry out future projects related to Esports in the country and the region.

Through our actions, we promote the benefits of Electronic Sports and provide a greater understanding of the industry, allowing us to
develop the Esports ecosystem in Argentina faster.

Electronic Sports are not contrary to conventional sports, they are complementary. Taking into account the positive aspects of their
healthy and orderly practice, together with the cognitive benefits, teamwork and communication, they promote the development of
communities and lead to new jobs. During a person's idle period, it is more beneficial to play video games than watching television.

DEVA works together with Universities and professionals dedicated to the study of Esports to give society a new vision of Electronic
Sports We focus our efforts especially on parents who are the motor of the motivations of the youngest to support their competitive
careers by promoting healthy and controlled play.

About Esports

INTRODUCTION TO VIDEO GAME COMPETITIONS

Esports, also known as Electronic Sports, is the word used to

designate those competitive video games that have developed
massively to converge in sports practiced and consumed
worldwide with a high popularity index. As in other sports,
players compete with each other through video games in real
time.

Electronic Sports are played on computers, consoles and

mobile devices. There are a large number of competitive video
games, including Legue of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global
Offensive, DOTA 2, Fortnite, Clash Royale, FIFA and PES.
Depending on the video game, the competition format can be
1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5, 6v6.

At the highest sporting level, teams can earn considerable

sums of money for first place in competitions. It is a growing
industry.
About Esports

ARE THEY A GAME? ARE THEY A SPORT?

Each country classifies them differently: Some, like Poland, officially recognize them as sports. Others place them in
different sectors: Culture, Innovation, Youth, Education, etc.C
In Argentina they are recognized by the Province of Buenos Aires, where Electronic Sports competitions have been held
in the Buenos Aires Games since 2017, and they have different certifications in various municipalities in the country.
In most cases, Esports is considered a sport because of the similarities with conventional sports; the existence of teams,
players, competition between each other, fans, merchandising, play arenas.
In the world there are more than 45 Esports associations recognized by their respective countries.
The International Olympic Committee is currently studying its possible incorporation as an Olympic sport.

A $ 1 billion industry.

In 2019, global esports revenue generated approximately $ 1.1 billion. A growth of 26.7% compared to 2018.

By 2022, it is estimated that the global revenue generated by esports will reach $ 1.8 billion.

The latest figures from the most recognized consultancies estimate that there are around 450 million
viewers, of whom 200 million are Esports enthusiasts and 250 million occasional viewers.

Competitions such as the Fortnite World Cup and the DOTA 2 International Tournament, distributed more
than 50 million dollars in 2019. Hundreds of tournaments are played at the amateur and semi-professional
level granting thousands of dollars.

EDUCATION

EDUCATION AND VIDEO GAMES

Schools and universities are realizing the need to be present in this

industry. There are cases abroad of countries that have included
Esports modules in their educational programs: England, Canada,
Sweden, United States, Denmark, among others.

AGREEMENTS
In Argentina, our contribution from the Association is provided with
the development of Workshops and Courses for different levels that
give a greater understanding to teachers and trainers who wish to
implement Esports as a tool in the dictation of their classes.

We have signed several agreements in order to implement the

educational programs developed by our multidisciplinary team to be
applied as extracurricular subjects in any educational or training
establishment.
EDUCATION

WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN

We have implemented the first children's workshop in

Latin America aimed at boys and girls from 9 to 13 years old
and from 14 to 17.

Apart from the workshops, we give talks for parents to raise

awareness about the use of the video game and evacuate
queries about the concerns around them.

We consider it´s really important to carry out sports

conversations within the family and for that we place
special emphasis on parental support.

With more information on the benefits of the practice of

video games and the bad practices that lead to their
misuse, we will be able to generate more committed and
tolerant individuals with the development of Electronic
Sports in the country.
EDUCATION

EXECUTIVE PROGRAM

Together with the University of Palermo we were pioneers

in America in developing an Executive Program specialized
in Esports dictated in universities whose recipients are
professionals, companies and advertising agencies that
want to venture into Esports.

Marketing, Legal, Economics, Psychology and history of

Esports are some of the topics contained in the modules of
the Program dictated by industry professionals.

Bringing initiatives related to Esports closer to the

university sphere give a plus of distinction to the
Universities committed to the paradigm changes that the
advent of the professions of the future poses.
EDUCATION

ASK DEVA

ASK DEVA is a segment of multidisciplinary interviews that

shows in first person how the different members of the
Association Staff generate a positive impact with their
associative work.

Understand the dynamics of what an Association is, how it

does it, what it does it for and to whom the work to be
carried out by DEVA throughout the country is oriented.

All those responsible for the DEVA areas and prominent

Esports personalities who have had a relationship with any
activity of the Association participate in the segment.
DELEGATIONS

OUR SECTIONALS
In 2018 DEVA began a Federalization process whose
objective was to promote local initiatives in the different
provinces of the Argentine Republic. In each Delegation,
educational and competition projects are carried out
whose purpose is the constant development of the local
Esports ecosystem.

It is a way to bring our actions to Esports players and

enthusiasts who do not have the ability to travel long
distances to attend events in major cities.

We are committed to federalizing Electronic Sports in

Argentina because it is part of its nature; Anyone with a
device and internet access can participate in an Esports
competition without having to move from home.
BENEFITS

THE POWER OF ESPORTS

Numerous investigations and studies carried out by our Scientific Research and Dissemination
Department demonstrate that the practice of video games can help:
ESPORTS
Increase perceptual and cognitive skills. PROMOTE
Sharpen decision making, reaction times and multitasking.
Stimulate brain growth. Provide positive communication and social benefits.
TEAMWORK
Promote teamwork and develop communities.
Provide computer skills that impact better job placement.
Improve dexterity and concentration.
Provide a series of intrinsic emotional rewards.

Playing video games is fun and very attractive for new generations. Practicing Esports in a
moderate way is a beneficial alternative to watching television or using social networks
excessively.

Practicing Esports requires quick thinking and involves the player directly, whether they are
playing alone or with their team. For viewers it also means a strong sense of community and
