Subject : An Application pertaining to B.A. LL.B 10th Semester University Examination

Respected Ma’am,
This is an application on behalf of the entire class in the final year, with respect to the
uncertainty prevailing with regard to the Final exams to be taken by the Gujarat
University on the 25th June, owing the present situation in the country and the state of
Gujarat in particular, and also owing to the worsening condition over the past few days it
is a request from the students in the final year to suggest a course of action in this regard
or an alternative by which the hardship of the students be lessened , as it would be highly
perilous for students residing outside as well as in the city.

We being the students of final year waiting for our examination to be conducted, and as
all of us are having a common issue, we wish to seek your guidance and suggestions for
our future course of action, owing to the recent circumstances as enlisted below.

A. Our exam was to be conducted in March, which was however postponed due to the
ongoing pandemic.

B. During this period of lockdown, slew of directions were given with regards to
educational institutions in regards to conducting their exams etc.

C. Owing to the fact that the All India Bar Exam is going to be conducted in a short span
and that the last date of form filling is July 26, we must have our degree certificates by on
or before July 20 in order to get the form filled as it requires a lot many formalities to be
completed. If we are not given a passing certificate from the college it is impossible for
us to appear in the bar exam.

D. The University declared on 25th May, 2020, that it shall be conducting exams on or by
June 25, if the situation gets better however there is still no clarity as to will we get our
degree certificates as many times the result declaration takes over a month and we may
miss the Bar Exam deadlines.

E. However we must note that the city of Ahmedabad especially is in a state of great
dismay with cases increasing and also having the highest mortality rate in the state of
Gujarat. In such cases it is difficult to foresee that within 30 days the whole situation will
be in control and it will not be possible for us to give exams. Further, The stakeholders
such as Student, invigilator and staff of the institution or any officials of the department
or the university may be silent carrier or asymptomatic patient of corona who may put
lives of students at risk.

F. Many of the students are from Containment Zone or other states and cities and upon
their arrival for exams in Ahmedabad they might very well be quarantined. In such
situation it becomes impossible for them to give exams given the fact that regular
traveling services are still stranded.

G. Considering the current situation of pandemic and spread of COVID 19 specially in

Ahmedabad conducting the examination may result in increase in number of cases and
thereby perilous to the life of students. Further we can’t suffer the delay in bar
examination so kindly provide an alternative, as adopted by a hand full of universities.

H. Taking all the aspects into consideration we request the concerned Authority to take
due steps to promote the students on the basis of average marking system.
I. Therefore we request, some suggestions from you as our Director as to what shall be an
alternative or suggest if Merit based Progression can be implemented with regard to the
afore-mentioned as the conducting of exams would be parlous and also not practically
possible.

Yours sincerely,
Batch of 2015 – 2020. Date: 25/05/2020
