RELEASE-RITE® 6517 Bladder Coating
Water-Based Coating for Tire Bladder Treatment

RELEASE-RITE® 6517 is a proprietary, water-based coating technology that provides the tire
molder with a protective barrier for the bladder. Specifically formulated for extended bladder life,
the RELEASE-RITE® 6517 forms a very durable but expandable polymer coating that adheres
directly to the bladder and stretches during inflation/deflation. Additionally, a very tenacious
film is produced that protects the bladder from mechanical abrasion and chemical attack. The
RELEASE-RITE® 6517 is compatible with all types of inside tire paints, as well as with Cross’s
completely new series of inside tire lubricants that will provide significantly improved synergy
with the bladder coating. These new inside tire paints will be introduced to the market
throughout 2017.

Typical Properties Application Method

Appearance…………………White Opaque Fluid 1) Thoroughly clean bladder surface of all foreign
contaminants.
Specific Gravity…………..0.98-1.02 2) Apply RELEASE-RITE® 6517 using a fine mist
spray gun or sponge.
Solids………...………………25% 3) Apply two coats to bladder surface allowing
the film to dry overnight or oven cured
pH………………………………8.0 (250F) for minimum of 30 minutes.
4) Allow final application to fully cure before
resuming molding operations.
Application………………...Formulated for rubber, tire
bladder as protective coating. A Cross Chemical release expert will be happy to assist
you in determining the proper use and application of our
products.

Handling & Storage

Containers: 5gal (18 liters), 55gal (207 liters) and tote quantities available.
Shelf Life: 1 year under original seal, unopened containers.
Disposal: Dispose of product appropriately, following all federal, state, and local regulations.
Freezing: Protect from freezing.
Stability: Gently agitate before initial use.
Safety & Health: Refer to the product Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
