Course Title: PHILIPPINE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM

Course Description:

The course aims to analyze the procedures and the practices of the criminal justice system with
its linkages to law enforcement services, the prosecution, court, correction and community. The
focus will be the five pillars of Criminal Justice System in the Philippines - the Law Enforcement,
Prosecution, Court, Corrections and Community and will discuss the functional relationship as
well as the individual roles in the administration of justice in the solution of crimes. This course
also incorporates the scientific study of crimes, criminals, societal responses to their behavior in
penal and non-penal setting and the administration of criminal justice correction including
parole. Ethics and Issues in the promulgation of the criminal justice system will be exposed and
emphasized with the aim of guiding the student’s in knowing the application of basic concepts
and rules leading towards their evaluation of the criminal justice system in the Philippine.

1. Regular attendance and punctuality are expected from all students. The faculty is not
obliged to give a make-up activity or examination.
