Soot Testing – In Summary
A candle is a system.
Emissions of significant amounts of soot are an indication
that the system is out of control.
Emissions of soot indicates incomplete combustion which
suggests the candle will emit higher levels of other
hazardous materials (e. g. Dioxins, PAH ...)
Soot testing is simple, inexpensive and can be carried out
by any candlemaker.
Ö The soot test is a ‘HEALTH-CHECK’ for a candle.
