RECOGNIZING THE BARANGAY COUNCIL FOR THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN

WHEREAS, Article 87 of Presidential Decree No. 603 as amended provides for the creation of the
local Council for the Protection of Children;

WHEREAS, DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2002 – 121 the Organization of the Barangay Council
for the Protection of Children

WHEREAS, the results of the recently conducted Barangay Election has attected the composition
of the BCPC;

NOW, THEREFORE, I ROBERTO V. CARPIO, Punong Barangay of Barangay Pamucutan, by virtue

of the powers vested in me by laws, hereby recognized the Barangay Council for the Protection of
Children to be composed of the following;

Pamucutan Barangay Council for the Protection of Children shall Perform the following function:

 Foster the education of every child in the Barangay

 Encourage proper performance of duties of parents
 Protect and assist abandoned and maltreated children
 Take steps to prevent juvenile delinquency and assist parents of Children with behavioral
 Adopt measure for the health of children;
 Promote wholesome entertainment in the community, especially in movie houses
 Assist parents whenever necessary in securing expert guidance counseling from the proper
government or private welfare agency (P.D. 603 Art. 87); and
 Protect working children from abuse and exploitation.
