Sub
● Submerge--cause to be under water
● Submarine--a warship with a streamlined hull designed to operate completely
submerged in the sea for long periods, equipped with an internal store of air and
a periscope and typically armed with torpedoes and/or missiles
● Subject--A person who is under the rule of another
● Subconscious--of or concerning the part of the mind of which one is not fully
aware but which influences one's actions and feelings.

Ism
● Heroism--great bravery
● Altruism--acting with unselfish concern for others
● Barbarism--absence of culture and civilization
● Feminism--the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the
sexes

Ex
● Excel--be exceptionally good at or proficient in an activity or subject
● Exclude--deny someone access to or bar someone from a place, group, or
privilege
● Exhale--breathe out in a deliberate manner
● Exile--to be sent away or kicked out of one’s home or country

Super
● Superfluous--unnecessary, especially through being more than enough

or enterprise

● Interject--say something abruptly, especially as an aside or interruption
● Object--say something to express one's disapproval of or disagreement with
something
● Dejected--having one’s spirits thrown down in a depressing, disheartened way
● Eject--force or throw something out, typically in a violent or sudden way

Locu/Loqu/Locut
● Elocution--the skill of clear and expressive speech, especially of distinct
pronunciation and articulation
● Eloquent--skillfully, expressively, and fluently expressing oneself while speaking
or writing
● Loquacious--tending to talk a great deal; talkative
● Ventriloquist--a person who can speak or utter sounds so that they seem to come
from somewhere else, especially an entertainer who makes their voice appear to
come from a dummy of a person or animal

Cis/Cise/Cide
● Incisive--(of a person or mental process) intelligently analytical and clear-thinking
● Circumcise--cut off the foreskin of (a young boy or man, especially a baby) as a
religious rite, especially in Judaism and Islam, or as a medical treatment
● Concise--to express oneself in a clear, brief manner
● Homicide--the deliberate and unlawful killing of one person by another; murder

● Tribute--a gift, payment, declaration, or other acknowledgment of gratitude,
respect, or admiration
● Contribute--give (something, especially money) in order to help achieve or
provide something
Nym/Nom
● Acronym--an abbreviation formed from the initial letters of other words and
pronounced as a word
● Homonym--a word the same as another in sound and/or spelling but different in
meaning
● Onomatopoeia--the formation of a word from a sound associated with what is
named
● Nomenclature--the devising or choosing of names for things, especially in a
science or other discipline
