Give your thoughts on what are your roles in the University’s initiative towards sustainability and
development for our partner communities. (The University’s initiative can be referred from the activities
on Radiance Journal as reflected on the QRCode link.)
Student’s Answer:

Sustainable development addresses not only environmental problems, but also economic, social,
and cultural issues. Higher education can be a powerful tool for helping to build a sustainable future. The
idea of education for sustainable growth has become one of the essential learning initiatives to help
address for addressing many of the issues associated with human development.

The current efforts at preventing pollution, greenhouse gas reduction, and resource conservation
through recycling are the most easily recognized outcomes of this concern for sustainable development. It
is now generally understood to include economic growth, environmental conservation, and social equity.

We should integrate sustainable development issues into all forms of teaching, study, and service
to educate other people on the importance of sustainable development. We should encourage people to
think and act in ways that promote a more sustainable environment. To practice these things, it involves
providing people with the right knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values to ensure a long term future. All of
us should develop critical and creative thinking skills, participate in effective multidisciplinary activities,
and develop a system of values that emphasizes personal, social, and environmental responsibility.
