Introduction

The project located at sandafa town 38 km from Addis Ababa .includes

maintenance of swimming pool constructed and left unfunctional for over 10 years.
The pool was never field with water since it was constructed. Because of this
reason mosaic floor tiles exposed due to severe weather and rainy condition
resulting the tiles spoiled and removed. The pump house is full of water and the
booster is submerged. There is no clear evidence the pumps are functional since
they are abandoned for the past 10 years.it is waste of resource abandoning such
huge project abandoned without giving service over the years.in our country such
kind of pools are rare and found only in luxuries hotels and resorts.

Objective of the project

 To render service of the abandoned swimming pool
 To install additional water supply line and completely fill the pool
 to supply safety measure around the pool to prevent accidents
 to ensure electrical and electro mechanical equipment’s are working and
functional

Floor works
 clean swimming pool floor and remove spoiled individual mosaic tiles for
latter recycle and use
 removed mosaic tiles must be washed and cleaned and store in safe store
until recycle use again

Site work
 to prevent unauthorized persons students and keeps entering swimming pool and to
avoid accidents fence and gait should be constructed
 unleveled terrazzo tails should be removed and placed correctly again
 visitations herbs over the terrazzo working area should be completely removed
 old paints /deteriorated surfaces should be painted again
 for warning purpose the depth information should be written where there is change
in depth
Sanitary work
 Additional inlet connected from underground water supply installed to the
swimming pool with in a short period of time
 The water in pumping house should be removed completely for operational and
maintenance purpose
 Existing booster pumps should be taste if they are functional or not
 If the pumps are not functional should be maintain
 Since there are no shower trace in the site
There for New trace should be fixed
 Remove old shower out let and replace with new one
 Repaint shower stand pipes

Electrical work
 Check all the installations and availability of power to pole lights and booster
pumps
 Check pole lights and removed and replaced defected bulb
