 Welcome to our
Annual Theatre Banquet Special Thanks
The “Annual Theatre Banquet” is our end of the year
celebration where we present awards to our outstanding theatre Mrs. Ross
students and induct new members into the Thespian Society.
The Carver Panther Players, Troupe #6753, has been Principal
around for over 15 years, and we are better than ever. The Panther
Players have been to the Regional UIL One Act Play competition 8
Times, Area UIL One Act Play competition 11 times, and recog- Mr. Blanson
nized as a state UIL alternate 5 times, winning numerous best per-
former awards and other medals along the way. In the Tommy Tune Asst. Principal
Awards, the Panthers have received nominations in all categories,
totaling 85 nominations, 6 of which were for best musical, and 11
wins. In 2020, Jocelyn Dorsey won the Tommy Tune Best Actress
and in 2014, Nyles Washington won Best Actor and represented the Mr. Schattle
company at the Jimmy Awards that summer in New York. The
Troupe has had 230 national qualifying students since it began Asst. Principal
participating in Texas Thespians State Festival, qualifying in all
categories and earning main stage finalist numerous times, along
with performing on the Main Stage with Texas’ amateur premiere
of Memphis and performing in the Play Marathons. In 2019, Fran- Mr. Richardson
cean Houngbo was one of two playwrights to be recognized at The
Texas Thespian Festival Playworks competition for her play, The Asst. Principal
Waiting Room. The Panthers have received a number of superior
ratings at the International Thespian Festival, with Thespy award
winners in 2011 & 2020. The Troupe has had a number of students Ms. Brown

productions at the International Thespian Festival. The Troupe has
been invited to perform at the American High School Theatre Festi-
