IS GLOBALIZATION GOOD OR BAD?

Globalization. As this word suggest, it encompasses activities around the

globe. It is not only the Philippines that is concerned here, but everyone else. So,

why is globalization that important? It is important because one, here in the

Philippines most people go abroad to earn for a living. Job offerings are a little less

here compared in the abroad. Thus, communicating with them from another country

signifies a part of this globalization. Second, when they come home, they bring goods,

souvenirs, and a lot of things from where they came from. We get to see what the

other countries have. It lets us get interconnected with the people around the world.

However, as globalization has brought benefits in developed countries, the

question here is – Is Globalization Good or Bad? As we all know everything has its

pros and cons and for this globalization there have been positive effects as well as

its negative effects to everyone. The positive effects include several factors which are

education, trade, technology, competition, investments and capital flows,

employment, culture, and organization structure. As for the negative effects,

cyberbullying may be rampant, human trafficking through the internet, and other

illegal acts that may cause deep trauma for a wide audience. Looking at it, it may not

be safe anymore although there are a lot of benefits to gain from this globalization

but then bottom line of this would be how responsible people would be participating

in this growing globalization happening right before our eyes.

In conclusion, globalization has its positive and negative effects so it would

only depend on how one utilizes and participates in this. Let us be responsible for our

actions as this globalization may have helped our country to grow, develop, and

flourish but on the downside of it we may be harming one another and there may

have been real issues happening at the back of it. So, being accountable for our

actions is the key.
