HEALTH BAND FOR PARKINSON’S PATIENTS

ABSTRACT:

Parkinson’s disease represents a major and rapidly growing problem to the healthcare system.

There are more than one million cases per year. It is a progressive nervous system disorder that is

caused due to low levels of dopamine. Quantitative assessments using wearable sensor

technology may allow for continuous, objective, and ecologically valid data collection. Also, this

approach may improve patient-doctor interaction, influence therapeutic decisions, and ultimately

improve patients’ global health status. In this paper; we propose the system the idea of a

wearable health monitoring device. This device contains various features such as fall detector,

GPS location, buzzer and step counter.
