Course Objectives:
To enable the pupil teachers to:-

1. To understand the nature & scope of educational technology and also about the various
forms and approaches.
2. To know the need & importance of educational technology in developing teaching
learning materials and processes.
3. To know about hardware & software instructional aids
4. To know system approach in education and its components.
5. To know steps involved in the construction of programmed learn

Unit I: Introduction to educational technology


Educational Technology: concept, need, scope
Forms of educational technology ( Teaching, instructional technology & Behaviour
technology) &
Approaches of educational technology (hardware & software, multimedia & mass media
approach).
Objectives of educational technology at macro and micro level.

Unit II: System Approach in Education


System approach to education & its components: Task analysis, content analysis, content
analysis & evaluation strategies.
Programmed learning: Concept, origin, basic, structure of linear and branching style of
programming, various steps involved in construction of programmes.

Unit III: Hardware & Software instructional aids


Hardware instructional Aids: Epidiascope, projectors, tape recorder, T.V., computer Adv.
& limitation.
Software instructional Aids: Blackboard, pictures, graphs, charts, maps, globes, diagrams,
photographs, flashcards, models, slides. Advantages & Limitations

Unit-IV: Formulation of teaching or instructional objectives


Meaning of instructional objectives
Relationship of ins. Objectives with the general aims & objectives of teaching a subject
Taxonomy of instructional objectives
Taxonomy of objectives in cognitive domain
Taxonomy of objectives in affective domain
Taxonomy of objectives in psychomotor domain
Conclusion regarding writing of instructional objectives.

Unit-V: Research in Educational Technology


Research in educational technology- trends and priority areas with reference to education.
Recent innovations in the area of educational technology.

SESSIONAL WORK

Prepare a power point presentation on any one topic from the whole syllabus.
Create your own e-mail account and upload all your important documents like mark lists,
degree, certificates etc up to it.
