1A  What are you doing?
Instructions
You will need: one worksheet per student

• Give one copy of the worksheet to each student. Give students

plenty of time to read the prompts and write a word or phrase in
each square which is true for them.
• Go round and help with vocabulary where necessary. Write any new
words/phrases on the board.
• When students are ready, divide them into small groups. Each
student takes it in turns to read out one of their answers. For
example: At the moment, I’m reading a biography. The student talks
about this for a minute, and then sees if any other students in the
group have the same (or similar) answers.
• Encourage students to ask follow-up questions to find out more
information.
• Ask the class to nominate students from each group to share any
common answers with the class.
