The door is manually controlled and hydraulically operated from a Panel located at either the cabin cockpit divider at Sta. 304, of above the L1 door, AIRPLANE EQUIPPED WITH A STANDALONE MOTOR DRIVEN HYDRAULIC PUMP. The main cargo door electric motor driven hydraulic pump and reservoir are located between Sta. 1040 and Sta, 1064. The pump is powered by 115 Volts AC and is protected by a 25 AMP circuit breaker located on the P6:Il Generator No. 1 Power Panel, & hand pump located either in the left main landing gear wheel well, ‘or next to the hydraulic motor between Sta. 1040 and Sta. 1084, is provided in the event AC electrical power is not available. ‘Main cargo door caution lights are also located on the door operator's annunciator panel and are provided as an indication of door latched and locked status. Five lights are provided and are marked DOOR OPEN, NOT LATCHED, NOT LOCKED, VENT DOOR OPEN, and HYDRAULIC POWER, ‘The lights operate through micro switches located in the door. The lights are powered by 28 Volts DC. The ‘main cargo door system is tested by depressing the ‘PUSH-TO-TEST” button on the Main Cargo Door control Panel or the overhead panel. The Main Cargo Door Warning SYSTEM A" and “SYSTEM B' lights in some airplanes may also have a “PUSH-TO-TEST' feature incorporated in the light assembly to test light bulb integnty for the Main Cargo Door. AIRPLANE UTILIZING THE EXISTING AIRPLANE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM “B) The main cargo door is operated using the existing airplane “B" hydraulic system Electric Motor Driven Pump (EMOP) located in the main landing gear wheel well. Follow standard Boeing procedures to pressurize the “B' hydraulic system reservoirs, apply power to the aigplane and power to the "B" hydraulic system, A hand ‘Pump located in the left main landing gear wheel well is provided in the event AC electrical power is not available. ‘The main cargo door is latched in the closed position by latching pins that engage fittings on the doorsill, The pins are secured to two shafts on the lower edge of the door. The shafts are moved by hydraulic cylinders to ‘engage or disengage the latching pins from the doorsillfitings. Hydraulic fluid is directed to the cylinders by a hydraulic sequence valve that actuates when the door is fully closed. Positive locking of the door may be verified by inspection of the operator panel indicators and from the ground by observing the inspection Windows on the lower edge of the door. When the door is locked a green bar will appear in the windows. ‘when not locked a red bar will appear. The vent doors must be manually closed using a lever that is available from outside the airplane. ‘The Master Caution (DOORS) light will iluminate when the Main Cargo Door is open, when an unsafe door condition exists and during system test. Warning lights located on the overhead annunciator pane! read “CARGO DOOR WARNING’ “SYSTEM A’ and “SYSTEM B”. Ilumination of either or both lights indicates an unsafe door. Main cargo door caution lights are also located on the door operator's annunciator panel and are provided as an indication of door status. Twelve (12) lights are provided and are marked MAIN DOOR OPEN (FWD/AFT), MAIN DOOR NOT LATCHED (FWD/AFT), MAIN DOOR NOT LOCKED (FWD/AFT), VENT DOOR OPEN (FWDIAFT) and HYD SYS LIGHTS (POWERIPRESS). Verify that the main cargo door is flush with the fuselage. A flush door is not an indication that it is locked 2. Verify that a "GREEN" indication is visible through both door lock view ports, NOTE: if any “RED" is visible, an unsafe door must be assumed. This unsafe condition must be investigated prior to taxi or push back. 3, Verity that both vent doors are closed, and that the vent doors handle is in the "CLOSED" position (in the handle recess, flush with the fuselage). INTERNAL INSPECTION 1. Verify that all ights on the door operator's control panel are extinguished 2. Verify that both "SYSTEM A’ and "SYSTEM B" warning lights on the Main Cargo Door Warning Panel (Forward Overhead Ps Panel) are extinguished. 3. Accomplish PUSH-TO-TEST for wiring andlor light bulb integrity. This test is to insure Main Cargo Door only light is operative. BEFORE TAXI OR PUSH-BACK 4. Verify that both "SYSTEM A’ and "SYSTEM B” waning lights on the Main Cargo Door Warning Panel are extinguished. 2. Cargo 9-G Barrier Net is secure (If applicable). BEFORE TAKEOFF 1. Ensure that The Flight/Ground Switch on the Cabin Pressurization Controller is in the “FLT” position. This pressurizes the Cabin to 1 PSID (approximately 200 ft. below the airport tlevation), which provides evidence that the MCD vent doors are closed DESCRIPTION OF MAIN CARGO DOOR HEATER PADS In the Q/C configuration, Four heating pads are installed on the inside section of the main cargo door for passenger comfort.
