Dear magister,

I’m writing to express my interest in In Transition to a Pure Green Energy Economy Program,
and to demonstrate my . I’ve always desired to strengthen my knowledge about green
energy. The energy problem has always been a significant issue in Taiwan. Adoption of both
nuclear power or thermal power, will lead to numerous impacts to our environment. The
only way to stop the situation from getting worse is to gain a deeper insight into the issue
and improve the circumstances. Moreover, environmental problems not only exist in the
energy section, but also in residential buildings, the place we’ve lived for thirty or more
years beyond. Also, we’ve been discussing environmental problems in class for a long time.
For instance, according to the statistics, manufacturing cement for 1 ton causes 1 ton of CO2
pollution. This induces me to ponder, are there any alternative materials that could solve the
problem? As a consequence, actions speak louder than words, I am more than anticipated to
join this program.

 Then, I am going to show you why I deserve to join this program. First, in terms of the
language skill I got 860 points in the TOEIC test. Furthermore, my family and I had been
hosting family for a couple of years. It not only improves my speaking skills but also makes
me more confident and courageous than before.

Second, in the last semester, I was a Service-learning Teacher Assistant for half of a year. We
helped teachers in classes, organized the files, discussed how to hold an open-ceremony and
farewell party. For example, before the farewell party, we had got to report our rundown to
all the other team members. By taking this opportunity, we can share our ideas to each
other and give some comment after the report. I learned to trust my team members and
how important it is to collaborate with others. I think in the near future or further, if I want
to promote how using eco-friendly materials is much better than cement, the experience
makes me better to negotiate with architects or dealers.

As the two statements above, I’m ready to join this program. Even though I know there will
be a lot of difficulties in this field, such as technical problems, lack of knowledges, ...etc. I
would like to take this golden opportunity to learn more about green energy and
environmental materials in civil engineering field and do my best in order to make a
contribution to a better world with lower carbon emissions.
