Introduction to the study of Consumer Behavior:


Concepts and need of CB, Development of consumer behavior as a field of study. Consumer
Research Process.

Module 2: (08 Hrs)

Consumer Behavior Models:


1) Howard-Sheth Model of Buying behavior
2) Nicosia Model
3) Engel-Kollat-Blackwell Model
4) Sheth Model of Industrial Buying.

Module 3: (12 Hrs)

Individual Determinants of CB
Perception: meaning, definition, factor affecting perception, process, perceived risk and types,
effects of perception in consumer behavior.
Learning: meaning, components of learning process, types of learning process, low involvement
learning theory.
Personality: meaning, definition, nature of personality, types of personality, personality influence
on consumer behavior.
Attitudes and behavior: meaning, definition, nature of attitude, factor involved in attitude
formation, effects of attitude on consumer behavior.
Motivation: meaning, definition, Maslow’s Need Hierarchy Theory, effects of motivation on
consumer behavior.

Module 4: (08 Hrs)

Social Processes
Influence of social Class – culture, Sub-culture.

Group Dynamics and Reference Groups:


Group, Types of groups, Family life cycle, Friendship groups, Formal Social Club, Work Group,
Reference group.

Module 5: (08 Hrs)

Consumer Decision Making Process: meaning, Industrial buying process, Types of decision
making, Diffusion and Innovation. The Adoption Process, Opinion Leadership.

Consumerism:
Meaning, Consumerism in India, reasons for Consumerism, consumer Protection Act 1986:
objectives, rights of consumer, Social responsibilities of a Business Organization towards
Customers.

Note: Extra 10 hours devoted for activities like Seminars, GD, Projects, Role-Plays,
Management Games etc.

BBA 4.6 PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Objective: To introduce the students above Project Management.

Module 1: (10 Hrs)


Introduction: Meaning, Scope and Objectives, Peculiarities, types of Projects, Capital budgeting
Decision. Importance and Difficulties, Phases of Capital budgeting, Objectives of Capital
Budgeting, Steps in Capital Budgeting. Generation and Screening of Ideas, Generation of Ideas,
Monitoring the Environment, Corporate Appraisal, Preliminary Screening.

Module 2: (08 Hrs)


Analysis of Project Proposal:
Markets and Demand Analysis: Situational analysis and Specification of Objectives, Collection of
Secondary Information, Conduct of Market Survey, Characterization of the Market, Demand
Forecasting, Market Planning.

Module 3: (12 Hrs)


Technical Analysis: Material Inputs and Utilities, Manufacturing Process/Technology, Product
Mix, Plant Capacity, Location and site, Machineries and Equipment’s, Structures and Civil Works,
Project Charts and Layouts, Work Schedule and Need for considering alternatives.
Financial Analysis: Cost of Project, Means of finance, Estimates of sales production, cost of
production, working capital requirements and its financing, profitability projections (or estimates
of working results), Break-even Point, Projected cash flow statements, projected balance sheets.
Cost, Schedule & Scope.

Module 4: (10 Hrs)


Project Evaluation for Selection: Methods of evaluation, ROR and ROI Meaning, Pay Back
Period, Net Present Value Method etc.
Project Evaluation, Monitoring and control:- PERT & CPM techniques, problems in estimating,
time required, slack, critical path project audit & post project review.

Module 5: (04 Hrs)


Human aspects of Project Management:-Pre requisites for successful project implementation.

Module 6: (06 Hrs)

Closing the Project- Types of project termination, Termination procedure & evaluation of
termination possibilities.

Management Games etc.
