1. What are the criteria for differentiating Vint (intensive verb) from Vt (transitive verb)
and Vi (intransitive verb), and between Vt and Vi? Give example for illustration.

- Transitive Verb (Vt) requires object to make sense that answer the questions "what? "
or "whom? " after the verb.
There are 3 major types of them : mono-transitive, di-transitive , complex-transitive.
Ex: He likes classical music.

- Intransitive Verb (Vi) can make sense by itself with or without the verb-
complementation.
In other words, an intransitive verb does not take a direct object.
Ex: He is writing neatly.

- Intensitive Verb requires subject to compliment ( complete the meaning of S or
Intensitive verb respectively).
Formally, Vint comprises the verb be and linking verb.
Ex: She is a teacher.

2. State syntactic features and functions of filler, interjection and disjunct.

Disjunct: is the one mainly used to modify a verb.

Example: Naturally , I paid for my meal.
Filler: is an apparently meaningless word, phrase, or sound that marks a pause or
hesitation in speech. Also know as pause filler or hesitation form.
Ex: um, er, uh
(confused)
totally (emphasis)
i mean (emphasis)
right / uh huh ( agreement )
Interjection:
- is a word that describes strong, intense emotions. It expresses joy , sorrow ,
excitement , pain , surprised ,.......and usually ends with “!”
( exclamation mark )
Ex: Hurrah! , oh , wow , Ouch , oops , Kkk , ewwww,....
