Functions
Exit warning
The exit warning is only available if the Audi side assist option is
fitted. One of the red LEDs integrated in the door trim performs
the warning function together with the side assist LEDs (PR
number 7Y1) integrated in the door mirror.

Function:
• To alert the occupants to longitudinal traffic approaching from
behind when exiting the vehicle
• Can be switched on and off using the Side Assist button

Feedback concept:
• The Side Assist LEDs and the linear lighting in the door start to
flash, then the LEDs come on and stay lit until the warning
expires.

Convenience opening / closing

All windows can be opened or closed simultaneously by continu-

ously operating the key (open / close ) or a door handle closing
sensor, or by manually "closing" the door lock (actuation of locking
cylinder with car key). The windows and sun roof (if installed) must
be scaled for this purpose.

• Due to the capacitive sensors in the door handles, it is only

possible to lock the doors. Likewise, the convenience "closing"
function can only be activated via the locking cylinder.
• The process is detected after approx. 2 s of continuous opera-
tion.
• Country specifications: in some regions, e.g. NAR, the car key
must be located in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle
(approx. 1.5 m).
• If the key leaves the functional range in the vicinity of the
vehicle or if the ID ‑sender radio link is disrupted, the function
must be restarted.

Event search

In advanced key systems the key may inadvertently be removed

from the vehicle. For this reason, a so-called “event search” is
performed while the vehicle is in operation.
If the key is not detected, the message "Key not inside vehicle" is
