Subject: Mathematics Unit Topic: Algebra 2

Teacher: Mr. F. Recinos, Ms. D. Roches, Ms. J. Lino and Mr. S. Ack School: Julian Cho Technical High School
Class: 3rd Formers Duration: Sep 22nd – October 17 (4 wks)

Introduction:
Students will be introduced to advance level of algebraic expression. This will help students to gain confidence in the Math
course.

Rationale:
At the end of the unit plan, students will be able master the confidence in changing the subject of a formula and the application
of the distributive law and to understand the different techniques used in factorization.

Unit Goals:
1. Apply the distributive law in simplifying and factorizing algebraic expressions.
2. Apply the appropriate technique in factorizing algebraic expression.
3. Simplify Algebraic fractions
4. Solve Algebraic Equation and simultaneous Equations
5. Apply the law of indices to and simplify algebraic expression into positive exponent.
6. Appreciate the use of Algebra as a language and a form of communication;
7. Appreciate the role of symbols and algebraic techniques in solving problems in mathematics and related fields;
8. Demonstrate the ability to reason with abstract entities.
