1. Find a partner and research on the batek of the

Kalingas.
2. Discuss the elements and principles,
characteristics, and internal and external
influences of this work. Also, discuss its
relationship to Philippine culture, traditions, and
history.
3. Focus on the motifs or symbols used in batek.
4. Each of you will design your own original motif
using design elements found in Kalinga culture.
5. Draw the design on a sheet of paper using black
markers.
6. Be prepared to explain your batek design to your
classmates.
