Activity 1/ Quiz 1

1. What are the health problems that you observed in your community? Why did you say that it is a
health problem? Give at least 3 health problems.

As of today, the health problems that I observed in my community are the Covid-19
pandemic, malnutrition, and dengue. Although there are a lot of other health problems, these three
are what I observed the most, especially in our barangay. I can say that it is a health problem because
once a person gets covid, malnourished, or dengue a person cannot function well. They are not able
to function normally due to the pain that they are experiencing.

2. What are the measures or procedures being implemented in your barangay to avoid the spread of
COVID-19? You can answer in bullet form.

Below are the measures or procedures being implemented in our barangay to avoid the
spread of COVID-19:

- Constant wearing of face mask especially in enclosed spaces

- Implementation of social distancing (at least one meter away) in our church, public market
and grocery stores
- The number of people upon entering an establishment, such as churches, grocery stores and
restaurants is also limited
- Senior citizens and children below 18 years old are not allowed outside of residences
- A curfew was imposed in our city (9 pm to 4 am), barangay officials make their rounds
around 10 pm in our barangay to make sure that there are no people loitering around

Last June, my brother tested positive with Covid 19. With this, we were able to observe the
safety measures/procedure of our barangay with cases like this. Below are the measures or
procedures being implemented in our barangay for active COVID cases within the community:

- As soon as the barangay received a text message from the City Health Office that someone
tested positive in our household a sign was put in front of our gate indicating that we are on
a house lockdown and that no one is allowed to leave nor enter the house
- We were also contacted by the officials and asked us our personal information including
where we work and we’ve been for the past few days for contact tracing purposes
- The following day the barangay office together with the city health office provided us with
groceries, health kits (medicines and disinfectants) and monitoring kit (monitoring sheet for
14 days,thermometer and oximeter).
